Montgomery Frag Swap

Andy from the mailing list has secured a raffle item from Jim at Catalina Aquarium Products (www.catalinaaquarium.com). MOre on what we've got when we get it;).

I also just spoke with Jim at Aquarium Fantasies about the swap and being a sponsor for the club. He is very interested in both. He is setting up a table at the swap and we will further discuss club sponsorship as things come together. He will be donating for the raffle, as well. More later:).

I'll work on a sale thread here in the next few days, too. I have some of everything (SPS, LPS, softies, zoas, etc.). I'll have a few clams at the swap, too (crocea and 1 maxima).

Does anyone have any frogspawn that they might be bringing to the swap? Especially more interesting/colorfull varieties?

Also, I know this is a "frag swap" but since I'll see a bunch of you there I thought I'd ask anyways.... anyone have a pair of clowns (adult mated would be preferred, but I'm open to a younger pair) that they're looking to sell? GSM's would be awesome but I'd consider percs or other types as well...

See you all there, thanks!

I've got some anchor I can bring (green and pink). I also have some yaeyamaensis. It's green w/white tips. I think Will will have some, too.

I'll be bringing some Green Frogspawn.

I've got some weird purple/blue frogspawn. It's quite a slow grower for me. I'll see if I can get a frag off of it. I've got a lot of green that I need to get rid of, too. Think it would be worth bringing? Sounds like there's enough coming already haha.

Is anyone interested in some zoa's/paly's? I've got lots of metalica pink, some bam-bams, and some really large polyp green buttons. I can bring some cool blue zoas with gold edges, but they're tricky to frag so I'll wait to see if anyone's interested. oh, I might have some green candycane, if anyone wants some.
And as always, about 2 square feet of GSP for sale....

A little late in the game, but we have a flier now:). Jenn worked on this one for us.

I received a bunch of stuff form Seachem today. Two of just about every additive they have, and a new branding-Aqua Vitro, and a 3 stage RO unit.

More to come.

awesome job, blown away by the #/quality of donations you were able to get for this swap- I'm very involved with several organizations in grad school and any donations are tough to come by with the economy as it is right now...
So great job on that, can't wait for the swap saturday....looks like everyone's bringing some great frags!

Wow...first rate flyer Jenn! Gary - great work with all the donations - hope this turns into a recurring event.

Me too:). On donations, you send out a bunch of requests, and the same few seem to always come through for you. With so many frag swaps these days, it gets harder, but I think many see it as a win win if their name gets out. The person who wins a prize that they like or wanted will not forget who donated it;). If we get a good flow of traffic and everyone has a good time, it can only be a success.

ok, got this in hand today from Bulk Reef Supply..It's the dual BRS reactor, with a 1.25 bag of Lignite Carbon, and a 1lb bag of GFO Pellets

here is pic..

thanks Andrew!

Draco,

Current is still in transit...

Ken,

Jenn and I are up for dinner Friday night at Outback. I wasn't sure which thread it was in.

Tomorrow's the day. I'm about to head up to set up, so I'm about to be busy:).

For the fragging demonstration tomorrow, I'm donating a green mille for the SPS side and a pulsing sinularia for the softie side. We should be able to get as many frags as we need from them.

See you all tomorrow.

Just wanted to thank Gary, Jennifer, Julie and Ken for all their efforts in planning and executing this. I think everyone had a great time and I'm looking forward to the next event.

I want to congratulate Gary, Julie, Ken, and Jennifer for putting together an awesome frag swap. I'm sure everyone who attended will agree that it was an overwhelming success; especially for your first effort! Mary Ruth and I enjoyed meeting all of you and we look forward to seeing you at future gatherings. It is good to be able to put names and faces with RC "screen names".

You people have set the machinery in motion for what can be a very rewarding and interesting reef club in the Montgomery area. You have the momentum going, keep building on it and all of you will reap the rewards.

We also had the opportunity to tour Jim's LFS. I had heard of it but never realized how many really mature tanks he has. He will be a valuable asset to your club.

Again, thanx for having us down, keep in touch.

My wife and I had a great time, got some great looking corals and Emerald crabs, got back to late for the corals to open. Glad to see someone is getting a club together, it was a very informative and well organized swap (loved the frag demo). The distance from Talladega is just a little bit too far to be an active member, but have another swap and we will definitely be there. :bum:

I would like to say a few words....
w/out not knowing what to expect, I think we far exceeded our expectations!! we didn't even know if 1 person would show up. I think I speak for everyone in saying, that we all had a great time, enjoyed meeting everyone, and we always had a steady flow of people!!

but I would like to say a few more words:
1-thank you Gary and Jenn for doing so much work for this!! ya'll went above and beyond!!
2-thanks to our table vendors. Thanks Harry/Mary for driving as far as you did. Thanks Will for coming out, & thanks Jim for being our local LFS sponsor.
3-thanks to all our online vendors! we got more than I expected, thank you to all!
4-thanks Ken & Jessica for allowing us to have our swap at the Drury Inn. Jessica you were so nice accomodating our every need.
5-& most importantly, thank you to all the people who showed up & who drove far and wide to get there. Without ya'll, this swap would have been nothing. We really hope you had a great time, enjoyed meeting everyone as we did, got what you wanted, and went home w/ great bargains!!!

We really want to continue on this success & hopefully the next go-around, it will be even bigger and better!!!

I will be posting pics ....so come back soon!!!

Julie
