Montis are slow to color up?

I have several montipora digita frags, one purple, one green and one peach. They are positioned mid-level in the tank and horizontal. How long will it take for them to show color? My green digita is coloring well on the side exposed to the light( will the underside turn the same shade of green as the side exposed to the light?) and my purple has brown polyps with the only the tips being purple. (shouldnââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t the polyps turn purple?. My peach monti looks greatââ"šÂ¬Ã‚¦Ã¢â"šÂ¬Ã‚¦Ã¢â"šÂ¬Ã‚¦..I have had the montis for a couple of months.

my purple monti is only purple on new growth, and all the polyps are brown, always has been. the brighter the light, the brighter and more purple there is. as to green, the underside won't get as bright as new growth will.

For some varieties, the polyps seem to color fine in the shaded areas, but for others not.

I know my purple digi was a very high light loving coral - with only the tips purple except when placed high up when it would mostly go purple. Perhaps try more light for that one.
