moon warsse keeps rubbing on rocks

just got him and the first first fish i didn't QT cause i didn't have a tank big enough. But he/she keeps rubbing on rocks. I don't see any white spots like ICK. but from rubbing 2-3 scales are damadges on one side. Is this normal bahavior or is he sick. I tried to catch him to do a freshater rinse but he is way to fast to catch, I would have to take alll my live rock out to catch hime....So i feed him garlic and he ate it right up....will garlic get rid of a sickness? I know multi question but you guys can handel it....here are my questions?

Do warsses rub and dart and lay in sand normally?

is he sick and with what?

can garlic cure it?

Any suggestions i can not catch this I guy tried for an hour last night!

by the way i have had him 4 days now and he is not doing the rubbing as much but still doing it.....

Rubbing or glancing off rocks is sometimes an indication of parasites. These may not be visible to the naked eye. Garlic is not a cure or proven treatment. At this point, I'd simply observe the fish and watch for a worsening of the symptoms or even other visible signs of distress. It may resolve itself. Keep the fish well fed and the water parameters spot on. Make sure the fish isn't being harassed by anything else in the tank. Also, keep an eye on the other fish as parasitic infections will spread.
