good day guys,

I've got some problem with moorish idol..

I've tried to keep a moorishidol in a tank several times,,

but its never lasted for long, maximum was 3 months for my case..

most of them ate well,, bits, formular, frozen shrimp..

but they waste weight after all they died.... I'm sunk..TT

does anyone have same experience with me?

If you keep a moorish idol in tank over a year, please let me know the tips..

I'm gonna feed them New Life spectrum at this time..it's goona be last

Probably should post this in the Reef Fishes section. I believe there is a thread specifically about MIs there.

I have had mine for 5 1/2 years. I mostly feed new life spectrum pellets. Also, supplementing with Nori is a good idea. My experience is, especially when new, you need to feed them often, they cannot hold much food at a time. Also, make sure there are no aggressive fish that can out-compete them for food.

I hope you can get him eating and gaining weight. When mine stopped eating a couple of times, I always got him back eating with Rod's food, then back to NLS pellets.

I've had mine a month. It doesn't look bad thus far. However I drop in an algae grazer disc every day and have an autofeeder feeding a combo of New Era pellets and NLS finicky fish pellets 4x a day.

I'm not sure if the idol I have eats them, but I seed my tank with pods monthly as well.

I also just bought 3 frags of dirt cheap acans for my idol to snack on, hahaha.

I started my own thread documenting my experience thus far with my MI; there's also a thread with MI tips and primers. Tons of info on that thread
