Hello friends, just wanted to share with you guys a new food I´m testing for the zanclus cornutus, this food is specific for difficult fishes like butterflies and some angels. Just had the luck to test it cause a friend of mine is the person in charge of developing the new paste. here´s a short video of the fish eating it, see ya!!

What is in it that is special for Moorish Idols? Mine eats pretty much everything I put in the tank, including the ON Angel formula, but it would be great to have something oriented towards their nutritional needs. I also soak food in Angelixir and will feed sponge from the ocean.

Thanks.

Yup. Mine eats anything I put in there, but mostly gets NLS pellets and algae that is all over my tank. 3 yrs old and very healthy.

My MI goes INSANE for the HBH spirulina pellets.

I wonder how this paste would work for corallivore butterflies?

MI is an interesting fish, kinda picky at first, but once it starts eating, then that's prety much it. ... he is the first one to try to eat in my tank, doesnt matter what I am feeding.

so that food better have something that NLS and angellix dont have ... lol

my experience with butterflies have been different though ...

Was the idol not eating before the paste? Not knocking the paste but to be impressed it would have to get fish that don't eat to eat it. Where/when is it available to try?

hellooo

hellooo

the paste is inicially designed for just arrived fish, it´s specific for butterflies and some chaetodom. I tried it with an acanthurus that was in my tank for 3 weeks without eating nothing and once i put it in the rock he didn´t let nobody else touch it and eate it all!!! My idol came from another tank and it´s been there for many months, but what I´m really sure is that this is the most nutritive food I´m feeding him, because a fish can eat anything but if that food is not nutritive enough soon or later the fish will go sick and dye. This people run a huge bussines of phito and know what theyre doing. One of the best reefers in Spain is helping them develop it and I have the luck of being his friend. I use angelixir too but we all know it´s based on aminos found on sea sponges, and you can´t feed a fish with only aminos. The most of the food we buy on the market are based on vegetal proteins and that is the main problem. It´s too expensive making food the right way we need it for specific species, and only a few of us would pay for it. but very soon well have a specific nutrition for those dificult fishes we loved to keep!!!

I used to fish my idol around 7 diffrent types of dry food plus 5 kind of pellets and much mysis with the aminos, angels formula, krill, live shrimp ( I think this is the most nutritive...) and the problem I had was the water quality... I fixed it using this paste, it doesn´t dirty the water and every thing you put dissapears because they eat it all. now I have my nutrients low and my sps love it!!!

Saludos desde España!!!

the main problem with this fishes is not if he eats or not, is what he eats... now I just got a chelmon that hasn´t eated anything in a couple of days and now hes starting to eat the paste, if he keeps eating it I think he will make it. it´s too soon to sing victory yet but in a couples of months ill tell you how is he going... See ya!!!

I've always considered Idols among the easiest fish to feed that I've ever owned. I don't know of anything mine won't eat. The problem with Idols is just getting them to eat anything when new....many refuse. My experience with any new fish that refuses to eat standard foods for the species is simply they aren't going to eat, period. And, no, garlic won't work miracles on non-eaters.
