Moorish Idol

Just ordered one from Live Aquaria... Figured i'd document my 1st Moorish Idol experience. I've read through the Moorish Idol primer and have done alot of research. Will see how it goes...

Idol will be going into a 125 gal tank with 2 other fish. A flame angel and Pacific Blue Tang (hippo). They are settled in and eating well.Most likely a yellow tang will follow later on...

Best of luck with him. Hopefully you get a good one that's not picky. The last one I got in at work ate frozen foods the first day which is very rare.

I wanted to purchase one from Diver's Den but you have to be a speed demon through the check out process. I saw one last week and 10 seconds later it was gone!

I can't remember seeing one on DD, are you sure it wasn't a bannerfish---they've had a couple of these lately? I hope he eats for you. IME, they are much easier to acclimate to tank life in a QT. A freshly opened clam has gotten them eating for me.

I saw it on DD... Lasted like 10 seconds. I remember reading it was eating and went to purchase and it was already gone. Thanks for the tips. I dont QT but I do have a 24 gal refugium I may keep him in to get him eating.
