Moorish Idols - Can they be kept in Pairs or Trios

Can Moorish Idols be kept in pairs or trios or are they best kept just one to a tank. My tank is 265g.

Also keen to know if several Moorish Idols are kept together do they form a 'school'

Pairs do very well. They are way too big to "school" in a home tank.

You're right, they do. In captivity, they seem to just ignore each other.

While often in pairs in the wild, I've also seen many, many large schools. I know several people who have kept trios, with all three introduced at once. That said, they were very large tanks. As Moorish Idols need a lot of open swimming space, it were me I'd go with a single Idol.
