More Latz have landed in the US

My LFS recently got in 7 Latz babies and some sub adults. They all have juve. markings but some are pretty good size. I used to think that they were CB but given the sizes of this recent batch I am not sold that they are WC.
I still thinking about picking up another pair to try and breed but I will give others a chance to get these ones since I already have 5.

Not 100% sure. He had two on hold when I was in there today but not sure which ones.

I really hope someone is successful in captive breeding them. Do you know how many the store has imported?

I remeber hearing that ORA used to CB them a few years ago but there wasn't much of a demand for them back then so they stopped.
I only know of these being imported but I have also started seeing other threads with people asking about their husbandry which is typically a sign of them being available elsewhere.

I think I saw a thread where OAMA said they lost the males of the pairs and only had females, but can't remember if they bred them. There's an etailer here in SoCal that has Latz available right now, but are asking more than your LFS. I have never seen them available at any store, but from what I've seen Tongs used to get them in and sold them for $80.

Besides McC's I think adult latz are one of the more unique looking clownfish but I am also partial to the various black and white colored clowns.

I got a couple this morning and they are very very unique looking for clownfish.

They are so much better in person, no pictures does them justice.

Yep, they were in very good shape and didn't look stressed at all. The smaller one still has some juv. color so thats cool.

I heard you picked them up around 8:30am? I think I'm going to try to pick mine up around 7:30am since they are traveling twice as far to get to me.

Rare Angels is right. They are much more impressive in person. Very unique and the blue lips really stand out. One of the coolest clowns, IMO. A deep orange bluestripe clown with deep blue stripes and latz are my favorite.

I also find the personality on these fish to just be amazing. Most clowns that you come across at a store (your typical percs and occ) seem very goofy and indeed "clown" fish.

The one latz I had the pleasure of knowing for a little while recognized me and really was a sweetheart. I could put my finger in the tank and she'd come up and just nibble it- not bite, she was near full grown and could draw blood if she wanted to- but she was SO gentle.

I really need to find me a clown like this for my own tank someday soon.

I picked mine up at 8:30am at the FedEx office at my local airport, thats when they open. Hopefully you can get into yours earlier.

Large Angels, Chrysopterus clowns are one of my favorites but I have not been able to keep them alive, they always come down with something.

Chrisstie they do have a awesome personality, they seem curious and regal.

Hey Dave,

I got up at 7:30am today to pick them up....but sadly the fedex center near my place opens at 9am. So i had to hang out for an hour or so in front of the place.

The packaging of the bags were excellent. Fishes were not stressed at all in the bag or in my tank. However the lights don't come on until later tonight and I wrapped the tank in white paper to minimize disturbance. I am keeping the tank cool at 76 or so and at 1.019 sg.

Can't wait until lights come on tonight!
