Currently have 4 nos of Morish Idol's in quarentine tank about 1 month. They all eat pellets only. So i feed them daily 4-5 time soak with vitamins & omega. This is the last batch of live stocks to quarentine. So another month i will converter this q tank as one of my morish idol only display tank without any stressful raise up. Hopefully i able to keep them as longer as possible. Cheers!

I have had real good luck with Moorish Idols and they love fresh clams and muscles. You can pick some up from the grocery store and open up the shell and drop in. They will go nuts for them.. Congratz on getting them to eat.

Do you also use the angel elixir? It is specially formulated for angels and moorish idols that need sponge in their diet

IMO, the foods containing sponge are all good. But I'm not convinced any of these fish NEED sponge, they have just learned to exploit this food source. If captured as juvis; most sponge eating angels and idols will do fine with out it. When Katrina hit, I had a few sponge eaters (including 2 Idols) that I kept for 10 years or so and none of them were ever fed sponge. The Idols i have now were acclimated about 7 years ago and get a little sponge about every 10 days; not enough to matter. You're right on the clams, most fish go nuts over fresh clams or mussels.

Thanks for lucky snapper, Dmorty217 & MrTuskfish advise i'm very appreciated.
Are they going to stop eat pellet if i feed fresh clams and muscles?

I observed all of my MI eat alot pellet daily but the 2 of my small MI not FAT like another 2 bigger one, why? They even more aggresive then bigger one.

Not sure why the other two are smaller? Did you prazipro all the Idols? The fish shouldn't stop eating pellets all together if you offer some clams on the half shell. From the video they all look like very eager eaters

IME; The real trick is getting to eat anything. Once the begin to eat; they will eat just about anything.

I sure agree with Dmorty217's comment on PP. All new fish should be wormed with PP.

Yeah... I wouldn't expect that group of fish to play nicely. The tangs are swimming abnormally and will get way too big/aggressive for that sized tank. I think it's also a questionable size for one idol, let alone three. You'll likely end up with one if any survive at all.

Clown trigger is a whole different story :( I would consider making some stocking changes...

Thanks for viewing and comments. I do agreed that hv to tk out the trigger fish but those pbt growing very slow in 4 ft tank it won't be crowded in shortly. Off course when the pbt growing big i will shift some to another tank too make more space for moris idols.

I can honestly say I've never seen 4 powder blue tangs together, in such a small tank. Plus a powder brown. Please don't add any more idols.
