"Morning Ich"

My new Kole tang, I found has been accumulating Ich parasites at night and appears to have maybe 10 to 20 parasites attached to its body every morning, when it has been up for about an hour, they seem to just either fall off or go away. Nibbles eats just fine and grazes all day on algae around the tank and his coloration and shape is perfect besides when he has his "Morning Ich" episodes. He exhibits no stress at all during the day and follows the party of herbivores around the tank and grazes. I do hope there is an answer to these strange things.

I will take one next time is catch him with the dots. I looks just like ich, though. I am feeding him Emerald Entree and Marine Cuisine and he feeds as well as a starved Wrasse tasting high quality frozen foods for the first time. Grazes on every kind of nuisance algae in the tank.

I got a yellow belly hippo that one morning had about 8 - 10 white spots on him and than the next day down to like 2 - 3. Could be the same????

I've had this happen many times, especially with Tangs. It's not uncommon for fish to acquire parasites at night, especially new fish that are going through an adjustment period and coming off a stressful trip. If the problem doesn't get worse and they are eating and acting normal, just leave them alone. Chances are it will pass in a couple of weeks.

Thanks, seapug, I will be getting a new sterilizer bulb in a few days, so the parasites should be subsiding. I did some tank maintenance the other day and it worried him somewhat. He has a lot this morning and seems to be flashing and twitching a lot too.

dirtclownfish.. It's still with me.. But I think it got imune to ich. Because he's one of my fish that didnt got ich.

My naso,Emperor and Unicorn tang got ich. But it's in my shark tank and the tank is too big that I cant catch them.

My bird wrasse has this morning ich but after a couple of hours,it's gone.
