"Morning Ich"

That is good to know, lendz. How does the sailfin's skin look after all of this morning ich? Are there any cysts or visible signs of damage?

Dirtyclownfish, if your fish is now also displaying flashing behavior and twitching, he probably does have ich, not sand or bubbles.

When I upscale, I am moving all of my live rock and corals, though none of my water or live sand. I will start over with new water and sterilize it all for a week with UV before my fish go in. The morning ich will probably subside before the move, though. I do not want my fish to have any possible way of catching ich even if it is overnight and it comes off in the morning because, after all, they are perfectly healthy. I am thinking of going bare bottom for cleanliness purposes.

I have 6 big tangs for a year.
The Powder Blue Tang always has "morning ich".
My tank is 300g and I have 57w UV.
He's growing and fat but his skin looks ugly :)
I would love to find the cure for it.

This happened to me 4 years ago, mine were defineatly pods. I would turn on the light a watch them with a magnifying glass and see them basically jump off after the lights were on for a little while. I hope you do better than I did. they took out 5 fish worth a couple hundred bucks. The only thing that lived was my yellow tail damsel.

when did pods start eating fish????
4 years ago. I even contacted the maritime aquarium and mystic aquarium, the 2 largest public aquariums in the northeast. They both were familiar with it and said it was probably isopods. Regardless, they said out of all the species of pods, there are are only a couple that parasite fish. Just bad luck I guess. The maritime aquarium did lose some fish from this. They told me that they eventually breed them selves out and dissapeared, and thats exactly what they did for me. Unfortuneatly they got most of my fish first.

The only way to cure the "ich" is to pull the fish, copper treat them in the QT tank and leave the tank fallow for 4-6 weeks at 80F. That seems a little extreme in your case though because your fish seem to be tolerating it. I would boost nutrition/immunity with some beta glucan and garlic soaked food. There is some new evidence that "ich" aka crytpocaryon irritans, tends to weaken from it's own inbreeeding after about 11 months...as long as no new strains are introduced. More to come I am sure.

I just want to clarify ,They didn't eat my fish, they did attach to them and feed, But what killed them was when they got in thier gills. It killed me to see them breathing so heavy. On occation I got lucky and could catch one and give him a dip, they would dislodge from the gills and the fish would act normal. Swimming and eating until the next time. It was a very bad time and thankfully it hasn't happened since. This all happened because I bought a great looking piece of liverock. everything was going great before that. I now am considering putting rock in my sump but I'm boiling it first and gonna let colonize from my stock.

I'm not certain what (dirtyclownfish) has but if it's what I had, it is not ick. with a magnifying glass you could see these things scurrying on fish and glass at firstlight. then poof ,they bail off into the substrate

What a pretty powder blue. Not as ugly as you made it sound. My kole has no morning ich this morning, Actinics just came on and he has already broken up several quarrels among the damselfish.

My Rabbitfish gets Ich spots every once in a while. It's very random, usually only a few spots on the fins, and then they go away.

I wouldn't really worry about it. Don't stress your fish out more than you have to, especially if it's not getting any worse. Just continue to feed plenty of greens and it'll be fine.
