Morphing Zoos

Was just curious how rare it is for a zoo to morph. I just got my first zoos a few weeks ago and on one of my plugs the first new sprouts reversed the color of the originals. Went from greenish yellow mouth area, purple body and skirt to purple mouth, same greenish yellow body and purple skirt. Is this normal?

Could I maybe be seeing things wrong? I am almost 100% sure the new polyps are in fact new and were not there when I purchased the frag.

most if not most zoa's and palys morph due to the environment their in. ( LIGHTING , FLOW, NUTRIENT LEVELS )

The only things I could find about them morphing was telling me the same thing you are, but all the zoos do. Matter of fact I think there was a post today speaking of the same thing. Like I said, I'm new and just trying to figure things out. Thanks so much for the response.

I have a bunch of zoa colonies that are the same polyps but a bunch look different from the original strain due to lighting changes, flow etc.

I also have some that haven't morphed yet and have stayed the same. just bigger.

Thats cool, can't wait to see if I get more morphs from my other frags. Got five different ones atm so it should be interesting. Might get some crazy stuff to happen once I start the switch to MH and have to put them in the bottom of the tank.

the bigger your colonies get the more noticable the morphing is, specialy if the colony changes depths.
