Most efficient heater for 675 gallon?

Would appreciate any advice or suggestions on how best to heat a 675 gallon reef.
Room temp drops down into the 60s during the evenings in Winter.
Thanks

Are you building a new tank? If so I'd put Radiant heat tube under the tank. It can run off your water heater or a boiler.

The guy at kth where I brought penductors from has heaters that will heat large amounts of water. Call and talk to ken and he can help you out he know a lot about water and flow and stuff but is not a reefer but is interested in it a lot.

Sean can you insulate the room? Might help on the use of a chiller as well if you have warm summers...

Hi Gabriel!
Summers are really never a problem. My current tank doesn't get above 83 with all halides on during the hottest part of the day during the summer, so no chiller is needed. BUT, since we face North and I have a wall of windows, the winter on my cliffside is sometimes brutal. With the high 12' ceilings and wide open 30'x24' room, heating is an issue.
Thanks for the other tips guys. I'll get in touch with Ken at KT.

yeah you kansas folk never really get a summer....

then again us angelinos never see snow on our front lawns...:D

Are all sides viewable? If only the front is viewable insulating the sides and back of the tank with a foam insulating board may help out some.

If the tank or equipment is in a dedicated room, you'll be better off heating the room rather than the water.
