most expensive

Current fish total: $1216.00

That post there makes the ultra-expensive fish seem even more crazy. Look at that list of fish - some beautiful and awesome fish in there. And a single cross-hatch costs as much as all that. A gem tang or conspic is double that entire list!

I guess if you can drop $3000 on a fish, it doesn't matter. You could probably drop $10,000...

Yup...

Get that from my wife a lot. She says you could spend way less and have more colorful fish that other people would enjoy when they visit.

... but to me I just really like having rare and uncommon things.

There are limits to where I think fish start getting a little ridiculous in price haha...

Peppermint, masked , debelius angel

Priceless ballinae angel ( I bet some people here will pay over 50k for it)

Very true. Is there any reason Abe's angel rarely gets mentioned? I've only seen one at Waikiki aquarium and not sure how many hobbyists around the world actually own it.

If you want real heartbreak. add up the fish you lost before you learned your lesson about impulse buying, QT and disease treatment.

Most expensive is my $900 tinkeri butterfly.... I bought a pair... and one died :(

Ow, that stings.

My most expensive fish has been a female genicanthus caudovittatus for $250. I think the only other fish that may go over that price will be a male lineatus, which I assume will cost around $300. I can't see myself spending more than that on a fish right now, as pretty as some may be.

If you think these are you should check the prices of Japanese Koi Fish. There have been some go for over 1 miliion $.

I spent $100 on my blue spot jawfish a few years ago and still have him. My LFS has a broomtail wrasse as we speak in a 300gal display tank that has a price tag of $1000.00. I have heard they are fairly rare and judging by his price tag I would say so. The most expensive fish I have seen so far.

Any of my expensive/favorite fish that die get vacuum sealed and put in the freezer. I have a hard time letting go! LOL
