can i use a mouse pad between my glass and return pump? its neoprene and safe correct? im still in the mock up/finalizing phase so i have a piece of eggrate in there right now but need something soft to absorb vibration

If you go to bed bath and beyond they have silicone pads you can buy. They are used to set hot pots on.

That's similar to what I have. I didn't realize it was that much $. I'm pretty sure BRS also sells something similar but thicker.

Biggest issue I've had with the silicon pad is that it's buoyant.

another solution (and a cheap one) is you have some extra sand lying around, just shove it in a thick Ziploc freezer bag and compress the bag so that it's an inch thick or so. Place the pump on top of that. As reef safe as it gets.

Use the soft web flat sponge like product that they usr for the bottom of tool box drawers.....they sell it by the roll and its perfect for dampening sound and cushioning vibration......

My return pump isn't that strong... I guess but I use a medical grade silicone tube that comes off a barbed fitting on the Eheim 1262 into it and the PVC. It reduced the noise by like 99%. Big improvement and doesn't put in vibration wear on your PVC, bulkheads, etc.
