Wave Makers came in today. Only thing left to get is the lights and heater.

Powerheads and auto top off installed. I know the wires need to be tidied up, will do after the lights come in. I ended up only using one of the new pumps and the smaller old one. The two combined just had too much flow even on the lowest setting.

I used a screw to attach my auto top off tubing to the tank. I know this will rust, anyone have any better ideas?

Just got my set of lights in yesterday and I am very happy with the initial unboxing and color of them. Growth will be observed in the coming months. Glad to see your lights are looking good on that tank. Do you have two pieces or more?

That is actually the light from my old tank. My new Aquastars should be coming in today. I'll post updates about them when I do receive. Did you order Aquastars as well?

Got the new Aquastars in and I can tell you right now, the build quality on these are amazing. They blew my expectations out of the water right from the get go. They even have that shimmer effect that the high dollar Kessils brag about. My corals seem to love them as well. Not sure how they do on growth but first impressions are very good. Would recommend these to anyone as of now.

Looks fantastic! Can you measure the fixture from bulb to bulb? I'm resting mine on top of my canopy and want to see how it will line up with my existing opening.

What are you refering to when you say bulb to bulb? The distance of just the lights and not the plastic around?

Right, I'm sure there is a plastic lip around the bottom of the fixture then the clear panel where the bulbs reside. I'm looking to get the measurement of essentially the clear panel so that if I set it on a piece of wood, I could make sure the opening in the wood would not block any light but would not be so big that the light fixture could fall through.

Size of whole fixture: 16 x 8.5
Plastic over light housing: 13.5 x 6.25

Hope that helps! and yes you can dim the colors separate from the whites ; )

That's exactly what I need. Thanks for taking the time to measure that for me.

Glad to hear the blue/white channels are separate. I'm looking forward to their arrival tomorrow.

No problem, they only have one knob but you change what channel you are controlling with the remote.

Have the fans kicked on yet? That's another consideration, if they're loud I might mount the lights within the canopy.

Fans are on when you plug them in. You can hear them, I don't know if id call them loud though... They aren't annoying but they are definitely not silent.
