I have had a 12-14 inch blue carpet (hadoni) in my tank for several years -- it hasn't move from the original spot. As it has grown, its underside usually side rests against the front class. Any advice on getting to move its foot 3-4 inches?
Have just moved one out of my tank! Very gently push a credit card under the foot. Once you lift a bit it should release then place it where you want it.
I have put a bunch of rocks between the stem and the glass to try to entice it to move backwards. If it moves, I will continue to annoy it a little bit until it gets to the right spot.
If you do try to move it with either a CC or your fingers (( with gloves on )) be very very careful. I attempted to do that with mine ( also a blue one ) and ended up putting a hole in it -- it just wouldn't release and I wasn't aware that I had gone through it. Lucky for me it made a full recovery -- even though I thought for sure it was going to die, looked awful right after the experience.
