moving anemone

My BTA decided to stay put in the back of the tank. He is very small (1-2") and actually wedged himself into a hole in the live rock. I tried to feed him some krill last evening (he didn't take to) and fed him some squid on Saturday (may have eaten). I do not want to upset him by moving the rock that he is on but I want to make sure he is fed. Should I just move him or will he be ok there for awhile?

anemone's will move if not happy where they are at, so if he gets hungry then he will move, but more than likely he is just trying to find himself a good safe spot, and inside rocks hiding is usually it. If he gets hungry he may extend out more, then you can feed him. But don't move everything around just for him

If it moved into a dark area I would try and get light on it by slightly moving the axis of the rock if possible. No Wedge is right the critter is just trying to find a nice safe spot.

I fed him last evening some squid and boy was he hungry!!! He did decide to come out of the rock more (maybe wanting more food?)...lol

Yeah... feed it if it's convenient. Otherwise leave it and it's surroundings alone and stable.

Yea I know about anemomes not knowing whats good for them. One of mine just moved to the back of my tank. I had to move rocks just so I could get food to him. I'm going to let him hang out their for a while, he is still kind of new to my tank. If he makes it a permanent home just point a power head in his direction, and he will move on.
