Moving internal overflow

I've been using this as a small nano and frag tank for awhile with success.
I bought it off someone on CL and its been a fun project.

Plan on converting it to a small amazon fw tank with a ram and some tetras.

Any issues moving the overflow box to the back center?
I don't like the "balance", having the box on one end.

I don't know how it was attached but assuming just silicone. It does have a back plate.
What's the best way to remove and replace?

Thanks and stay safe out there.

I'm assuming there are slits/teeth? at the top of the over flow? I would silicone some strips of acrylic at the top to keep the water from overflowing into it. Then try to disguise it with some drift wood or something that comes up out of the water to help hide it.

If it was glued in with acrylic glue I would carefully cut it out close to the sides of the tank and still disguise the black parts that are left. I personally would do the first one. That way you can always remove the strips with a razor and use the corner overflow again if you change your mind or when you end up selling it.

If it is a glass tank, it should be siliconed in. Razor blade and fishing line should remove it. Then silicone a patch over the holes. Before you do that, make sure the panel you are going to drill isn't tempered
