Moving live rock

I want to rearange my live rock. I have a fire fish, 3 chromis, 3 scarlett hermit crabs, 4 astrea snails and 6 nassarius snails. Would it be fine to rearange the live rock while they are in the tank?

Myself personally i would get a bucket or a styrofoam container and fill it with some of your tank water and put all of your clean up crew in it. I do that when i rearrange my rock. The fish will move out of your way when you get close to them so you shouldn't have to worry about them to much.

I've rearranged rock with critters in the tank... you just have to be careful and look under/around the rocks before you place them to make sure someone isn't hanging on that's going to get trapped. It would definitely be a good idea to put them in a separate container while you are doing it.

if you have a sump then I would baste the live rock first with a turkey baster--get some of the debris back into the water column where it can be filtered off. I wouldn then run a micrcon filter soak for 24-48 hours and then finally move around the rock

I usually have done my aquascaping with my fish in the tank... However if I do a major overhaul then it's a different story... Regardless, I would do a water change within 24hrs... I would recommend 20%
