Hi everyone I live in NY and I am moving to Lutz in July. Can anyone recommend some nice and trustworthy fish stores? Also I am transporting all my coral fish and live rock. I am going to be setting up the tank as soon as I get there but will be in need of 120 Fully cycled water. Anyone have any advice or thoughts??? Thanks! Looking forward to meeting everyone

FAOIS and Creative aquariums hands down. I don't think the water will matter all that much aslong as you can keep the rock alive and in water during the transport.

I think he means water from a running reef, rockin reef use to sell "live" water. I just don't think there is any benefit seeing as how water has no porous properties for bacteria to attach to.

If you're removing your water/rock/sand you'll definitely go through a cycle again. (Albeit maybe a short one) Not much you can do to avoid that.

Good Luck with the move. I did it 8 years ago from NYC to FL 18 hour drive straight with a 1 break in NC with an SUV. I moved a 90 gallon. I had 11 5 gallon buckets with live stock/LR. Some of the rock I placed some what wet in a 33 gallon brute bin. I bagged fish at LFS 5 min away and had the fill bag with o2. I already had the house and wife had moved down. So I made 200 gallons for water on for 5 40 gallon cheap Walmart bins before I fly to NYC to get my car. When I first got here I was exhausted and started right away. I tested a few of the buckets to see how bad it might have gotten. Much to my surprise levels were ok. After setting up tank and discarding half of the water in the buckets I used up 1 40 gallon bin to file tank plus some of the water in the bucket. I was tired so I slept for 5 hours woke up and tested again. Skimmer was going crazy but all seem well. Next day I checked again and that is when got high nitrate readings. I did 20 gallon water change and then 5 days later did another 20 gallons. All was well within two weeks. I have a 100gpd ro/di unit so if you need any help feel free too ask.

By the Way although it is a heck of a drive to FAOIS from lutz in my opinion John and Chris are the best in area to work with.

Regards,
Z

As a fellow lutz resident. I am constantly at creative aquariums. Drsdale is my second all time go to spot, but I work saturdays so its hard to sneak in there while he is still open.
