MP-10 Quiet Drive- Anything but Quiet

New member
Received my new MP10 quiet drive yesterday. It's no quieter than my old MP10, if anything its louder. I'm assuming there is a break-in period. Otherwise, I'm feeling a little ripped off right now.

Obviously you have an issue since every other review I have read has stated it is quiet. I do know there is a slight break in period. But honestly if you have an issue just call support

I've had my QD MP10W for about 4 days thus far and it's quite noisy at anything over ~40% or so. I'll try to turn it down to the lowest setting for a few days and see if that helps. If not I'll call in.
 
MP10's are more prone to wet side noise (sounds like a rattle or rumble typically) out of the box but this noise does quiet considerably with a break-in period. This is because the bearings seat into one another over time.

I have the same issue. I just installed my new MP10 then promptly dissembled it thinking there had to be something wrong with it. It's back in the box and I'll be contacting Premium Aquatics in the morning to send it back. It's easily an order of magnitude louder than my 4 year old MP10.

I know eco tech is saying it is normal, but there is no way my noise is normal.
 
When I first installed my new mp40QD I thought it was louder than it should be also. Turned out I had the wrong spacer on, even though by the measurments im pretty sure it was right. Either way I switched the spacer I was using and now its dead silent! I would try the other spacers and see if that makes it better or worse

It sounded like it was going to perform a high speed fly apart with or without the spacer!

My QD MP10W only had 1 spacer. I don't think the 10's come with multiple spacers.
