mp40 or mp10

Im setting up a (36 inch long) 65 gallon reef.

Its going to be mostly lps.

I already have one mp40

I am trying to decide between another mp40 or an mp10 for the secondary powerhead.

What do you guys think.

Why do you need another pump or what made you think you need another? I would have thought the MP40 would have been enough... Maybe a MP10 will be fine unless you are planning to upgrade in the near future

Guy that had it before me ran an mp40 and mp10. I can get a new mp10 or a used mp40 for around the same price so im trying to decide which would be best for the tank. I will have a pretty good amount of rock and i want good enough flow that i dont get much detritus. No intentions of upgrading anytime soon.

If that's the case! Go with another MP10, try to avoid rock touching the back wall. This way you can have flow in the back and not worry much about detritus building up.

Do you need it? Would think that one mp40 with the return would be good enough for that size tank... especially with LPS. If you have to spend $$$ I'd probably put it into something else like livestock ha anyway guess you could have super control over flow with mp10 but don't know if its worth it.

MP-10 would be a good second pump unless your going with mainly SPS I dont see why you would need another 40.
