mp40 stopped working

I own 2 mp40's, 1 has stopped working. It starts up then the pump kicks on and off in green/constant speed. Can I send this thing in for service. You spend alot of money on something you expect it to work. This is still under 1 year warrenty. I should have listen to all those reefers who said stay with Tunze. Very unsatisfied with product. Great Idea, but there is a reason why IceCap seperated itself from this product.

Huh? Icecap does all the maintenance on vortech. Whats the point of posting I should have stuck with tunze. If its under warranty just sent it in to get it fixed.

A suggestion for future reference:

You have 60 minutes to reread your posts, (from a 3rd person point of view preferably), and edit them.

I can understand your frustration but.......dude?

You most likely have the Gen1 that needs to be upgraded.

So as MrSandman said to you here in your previous thread:

"Just keeping it real here. Go to the Tunze forum you'll also find people posting with problems. Remember, one of the reasons for a sponsor forum here on RC is to assist the customers when there are problems. So of course when you go into ANY sponsor forum you'll see people posting their problems. Its how they handle those problems that differentiates one sponsor from another. Tunze and Ecotech are both very good about customer service. You can't go wrong either way. One can only imagine if some of the "other" pump manufacturers had a sponsor forum. They would get blasted daily and publicly. "

Man your in luck!! This guy had a Tunze last week for sale, and he looks like he is in your area too!!!

Your right dots, I didn't edit my post. I posted this after 2 hours of trying to get the pump to work. I'm sorry to bash the product, but I'm also very frustrated. 2 Vortech's with battery back-up costs around $1000 dollars. I've had a little time to cool off but when you spend money on a product you expect it to work flawlessly. I read there customer service is exceptional but I would have rather not had the opportunity to find out how exceptional there customer service is. I'm really fortunate this happened before the year warrenty was up.

What's wrong with trading/selling old equipment at the time you feel it's no longer necessary?

P_Productions-

Please email us at service@ecotechmarine.com to obtain service for your pump. Regarding your statement about IceCap separating itself from us- you couldn't be further from the truth and if you want to know more about this maybe you should do some research or call and speak with me directly.

There is no reason to post on our forum with a negative attitude toward and about us from the start. Things happen, it's how you deal with them that matter. Please be respectful toward us and we will do the same for you.

Its all good man, I am sure they will make it right.

I sent mine back as well, and even requested the firmware to be updated......but that wasn't completed for some reason. No big deal, stuff happens, and I will flash it myself.

I probably over did it trying to prove my point as it appeared to be one or two sentences of content, and the rest were cheapshots.

Normally, I would keep my mouth shut but Ecotech, (and from what I have seen here Tim especially), have been literally bending over backwards with our endless comments, responding to our feedback, being very proactive, and literally "doing the right thing"....and that was just a little below the belt and undeserved I thought.

I guess we both overreacted a bit.

Cheers

BTW Tim,

I noticed on my firmware minor revision, I have REV1 and REV4 on my MP40w's Gen1. Assuming I am correct in my blue flash count upon powerup:

A) Do you anticipate any problems with leaving them in thier current configuration, if I am lazy and do not update the firmware?

B) Do you anticipate any problems because of this if I update the firmware? ie: Update one first vs the other, etc.....

Thanks.

Gen2 would be two blues and two greens (version 2.2). If we forgot to upgrade your pump than I am very sorry. If you would like you can contact Steve at service@ecotechmarine.com and we can try and work something amicable out.

There's no issue with leaving them in the current configuration. It all comes down to whether or not you want the night mode, long pulse mode, and ability to save your wave as those are the three biggest improvements. There would be no problem if you leave the older firmware as both are very stable platforms.
