mp60 wetside magnet

i was just cleaning my mp60 and noticed that the magnet on the wetside is split open and full of rust, is this a common isuue? could this be the cause of some stn in some of my sps?

That is not a common issue at all. I would recommend sending that wetside in for service. Since the magnet has begun to rust, we will be able to make the repairs under warranty regardless of the pumps age. You will only be responsible for the cost of shipping. What are the magnets in the wetside made from? I do believe the rusting caused a lot of stn/rtn in my tank... Lost about 50% of my sps corals I need to sent the water to a lab and have it tested to see what the contamination is
