Mr. Cena's 800 gallon Reef Tank

The Tank Shape and size was Johns Idea so he is getting the exact shape and size he wanted. He has nice taste imo.

Looking forward to more pictures. I like this tank because it is not your usual build. Plus if I was building it I would be worried if Mr. Cena didn't like something lol.

I was able to sea lol the ocean for myself fri.As of now there are fish in tank no corals. this is do to schedule the coral placement is going to be a job that will take some time . I have been able to see some of the stock at there shop and the plan of attack is pretty wild to say the least. There not going for the rare types but unique and very different . Got to remember its over 6ft tall theres not to many corals that are TR and are extra large.

Is it just me or does that sump and skimmer seem to be way to small for this system?

Also are those halide 1000watters?

really cool build though!

I stopped by Mystic Marine to see how everything was going and Ray put me to work. He had 20 boxes of fish to acclimate and I got a sneak preview of the fish going into Johns tank. He picked out a swarm of large Hippo Tangs and Anthias for the tank, the idea is to use lots of schooling fish to create more movement in the tank. This will make the tank more aesthetically pleasing with all that acreage to fill.

LIONS TIGERS AND HIPPOS OH MY!!! (we are not in Kansas anymore Toto!)

Do you think there is enough swimming length for a school of hippo tangs? I can understand anthias as they are small and do a lot of vertical swimming but the tank doesnt seem to be long enough for a school of tangs. Mind you I understand the volume is very large but the length doesnt seem to be very long.

7 feet long is plenty of room for them to swim. I can not count how many times I have seen the same fish school in a 210 or some other 6 foot tank. They had plenty of room with an open aquascape. This tank has another foot and plenty of open area to swim. We are talking about hippos not unicorns so It is Ok. Not to mention all the flow coming from the closed loop which acts like a fishy treadmill.

I just got done reading the entire thread, and I am surprised an delighted that nobody has said what I am about to say yet.

When it comes time to do some fragging......DIBS!!!

I am sure that I won't actually get dibs but I can say I was first to call it.

awesome build...awesome tank...hope some updates are on the way.
