Saw threads about the magic eraser on acrylic tank and decided to give it a try. All I can say is WOW. It work like a charm. Removed the toughest diatom and other algae like nothing. It was effortless. I tried everything from magna float to acrylic scrubs and nothing worked. Without pressure the magic eraser remove everything and my tank looks like a million bucks.

To all that have trouble removing algae, try the magic eraser.

I've read that it works. I've read it killed corals. I've read it doesn't work. I'm to scared to try it. I use a credit card to clean mine every other week.

I'd love to see more people's opinion though that have used it!!

Wait.... don't those things have bleach or is your tank empty?

You have to get the Original Mr Clean Magic Eraser. It does not contain any chemicals.

All it is is melamine foam.

Everything, including corals, looks fine.

I use it and it does clean up the acrylic pretty good. You do have to use the original though, it doesn't contain any soaps or chemicals.
What I do is, I slice each brick into 1/4 sheets so I can put it between my mag float and clean the glass without getting my arms wet. Then I just toss the sponge when I'm done.

Ive been using them for a while now, almost a year with no il effect. I buy the cheap ones from the 99 cent store that are the off brand. Just be sure to use the white side and not the side with the scrubby on it. I keep softies, LPS, and SPS and none of them are affected by it. It will not clean off coraline algae but a old credit card works great on it. Good luck.
