Never used a Sequence. If I was running a dual becket I would go with an Iwaki 70 rlt but that's just me.

Same GPH as the Sequence Wahoo pump. But id bet you the Sequence is much quieter. I talked to the MRC guys and they said that either of those pumps should work great on the MRC skimmers. They said they havent tested them personally, but he didnt see why they wouldnt work and was going to have them field tested soon. Call them up and ask them.

Yep, there was some discussion about the Sequence pressure rated pumps a few pages back, though I've heard the newer ones may not have Baldor motors anymore, maybe thats just the dart.

Are the Gen-x's quieter than the Pan World (blueline)?

My BL70 is quieter than the PCX-55 I had.

Well Ok, the sound sound like it is coming from the windings, do I open the back of the motor or is there some kind of elec cleaner to spray inside and let it drain, maybe it got some buildup inside while it sat for a month.

What size pipe should I run from the sump, to my MR-2 input?? What dia is the put on the beckett??

I think everyone is running 1'' from pump to the beckett.

Cool, that's what I planned for. Does anyone run a Dart on an MRC skimmer, or does the Dart not have enough head pressure?!?

Mr. James, here is an example of 2 different pumps I ran on my MRC Recirculating beckett. Both pumps are about the same GPH but have considerable differences in head height.

GRI 520 (27.5' head)

BL70HD (39' head)

The BL70HD runs WAY better and makes a bigger colum of foam. Seeing as there about the same GPH, the BL70's ability to pump much higher (which I believe to mean 'creates more pressure') works alot better and is much more consistant than the GRI 520 was.

So I believe the more pressure you can run threw the beckett, the better off you are. Now i'm sure there is a fine line between how much pressure and how much GPH along with that pressure, for a dedicated size reaction chamber. There may be a point where the same 'pressure' but less GPH might be a better fit for a certain sized skimmer, but I don't know where that point is.

I know Andy recommends the Dart for some applications, but find it hard to believe that it will outperform a nicely matched pressure pump.

I took my Blueline 50 apart again, and it only seems like the blades on the pump are maqking all the noise, can I order a replacement blade. Does anyone know? or does anyone know how to make the blades quiet?

Can you return it and get a new one?

A guy here local bought the MR-2 and pumps from Andy about 1 year ago, he got a divorce and left and I purchased his equipment and tank. It's great stuff and it runs like a champ the only thing is that pump being so loud. I guess I'll give Andy a call and see what i can do.

How long does it take for an mr-1 to start skimming. im just getting lots of bubbles but no real skimmate.

also is there any way to lower the amount of bubbles comming out of the gate valve. I did a bad job baffling my sump and the bubbles are getting into my display.

Break-in time seems to differ from person to person. Once it starts skimming, there will be less bubbles from the output, but there will still be some.
