MRC Club

Should be fine. A MR3 is 8" bigger then the MR2 and you have a 12" riser and duel injectors so you are bigger then the MR3 which is rated at 500 gal.

I just bought an MR-2, but the riser tube is 4in not the 6in that is stated on the website. I was told by the seller that they just changed the sizings and that it was stated on the MRC website, but i could not find that anywhere. All i want to know is if i actually paid for an MR-2 and hopefully not an MR-1. Also, if it is correct is it still rated for 300gal? Thanks

MR-2 first riser is 6 inch second riser is 4 inch.
if ur first riser is 4 inch it's MR-1
MR1 rated for 175 gallon
MR2 rated for 300 gallon

The website measurements are for the diameter of the riser not the hight. The box measurements will tell you if you have a MR1 or MR2.

The MR1 is 9 by 5
The MR2 is 10 by 7

There are new owners of MRC since Feb (?) and they have been having problems getting access to the website to update it. I see you posted on their sponsorship page. They will get you an answer :)

Enjoy your skimmer!

I have a single injector mr2 with an additional 14" riser powered by a panworld 150 ps(?). During the day, the bubble column is down around the quick release but half a hour after the lights go out, the bubble column is overflowing the skimmer. I don't run anything at night that would change the pH or the salinity.

I've read through the old posts and can't find anything similar and was wondering if anyone experienced something like this and how they handled it.

I have a MR3 that does the same thing periodically, but not at any set time of the day like yours. Sorry I don't have an answer though as to why it does it. Mine does seem to happen more often after I feed the tank and the return pump comes back on. I usually will just lower the water level to about 2-3inches above the base box for about an hour and then readjust it back to the standard level at it will be fine for several days.

I just purchased the MR3R dual beckett.I see a lot of you guys have extensions on the becketts.Do they improve the skimming quantity or the density of the skimate.I've read all 40 pages and it seems most people have the MR1,MR2 or higher but not to many have the MR3R.
All went well with the fresh water pressure test(PW150) and tomorrow will be the big day.

Any chance the feed pump needs cleaning if the feed isn't constant the water height in the column won't be either.
My MR3R has been running now for about eight hours and thick foam is going to rise over the top any time .I am very impressed with the unit.So far it's every bit as good as you guys said. When I brought it home my son said...I thought you were bringing home a protein skimmer not the warp core from the Enterprise..lol...gotta love toys that work as great as they looki

So what did you guys do with the fairly loud air intake? I saw a thread here long ago about someone running the airline outside somewhere?

Also I have MAJOR mb's coming from the output, it's not a problem as I have too many bubble traps for it to get to the return intake, but I don't remember my DIY beckett (total copy of an MR2) letting that much through?

I just wanted to add, i have a MR-3 with a iwaki pump single injector/beckett and before i made the modification of the "Utube" it didn't work at all...

Now the utube is on the skimmer preforms like crazy!
I'm back to loving my skimmer!

Here is the modification i followed i know its in this forum but just in case someone didn't go back that far to read as i did

I had water come out of the silencers when I **** the power off.I assume this is where having extensions on the Becketts comes in handy. Can I just use parts from HD or do I have to buy them from MRC.I just got my R3R Sunday so any help from youall would be very much appreciated.
