Why should I replace the whole injector? I am just missing the gasket for the flange. How would the gasket on the lid of the skimmer cup contribute to my problem?

Only thing I saw was that your pump feeding the skimmer is teeing off to feed several other items. What is the gph and pressure rating on the marlin?

May not be enough force left over to fuel the dual becketts after the other items is the only thing i saw that may be an issue.

You could try closing those items feed lines and see if it makes a difference.

Yessssssss! Went over to an automotive parts store yesterday and bought some gasket material for the seal on the injector flange. Reasembled and within 5 minutes it was on it's way to producing a great foam head, and now I have control of the airflow.

I agree, it looks like it's running ok, but the air valve on both becketts are 3/4open and the water level is all the way up the neck to get it to produce foam.

The vertical (1" ?) pipe that tee's off your drain line goes where? (first picture)

(looks like it's been setup for quite some time, what did you change since your last "cleaning") ?

BL 70 on MR2R w/12" ext. riser noise

BL 70 on MR2R w/12" ext. riser noise

I just swapped out my BL55 for a BL70 and added the 12" extension riser to my MR2-R. Way more bubbles are being produced, however the pump is making a loud gust of wind sound about every 5 seconds when the air valves are completely open. When I close the air valves completely the pump just normally hums. The sound comes back again even when I open up the valve a 1/4 turn, but only happens once every 30 seconds or so. Anyone know if this is normal, or how to fix it? The noise is driving me nuts.

Need some advice please... I am setting up a new 180 and had planned to use an ASM G-3 skimmer that will fit into the 12" x 15.5" skimmer section of my sump. Then I had the opportunity to purchase a used MRC2-R... which I did, thinking the 10" x 10" MRC2-R would fit in to the sump. (When you add the plumbing it won't fit.).

I will run the MRC2-R external, but the drain will be below the water line. My plans are to drill into my sump side wall and plumb the MRC2-R directly into the sump.

What problems will I have with back pressure?

I will be using a Pan World BL-55 (PW 150PS) for the recirculation, and a Reeflo Dart (3600gph) to feed a manifold which will provide water to the MRC2-R, UV sterilizer (260pgh), BRS dual reactors, Calc Reactor, and two return lines into the tank.

just a suggestion, why don't you call Raj since he's part owner? He's local here.........

You can email Mrc or call them. They will still sell you the parts. Also Aquarium specialty sells the parts.

Can someone help me with the parts for my MRC MR-2R Recirculating Protein Skimmer?
I need two replacements for the cylinders that house the becketts. They have always leaked where the air inlet screws in and now one has cracked causing a huge leak. I notice the other has a small crack too.

Problem is that they are only sold as a complete assembly (Aquarium Specialty) for 115 bucks each. I like the skimmer, but $230 plus shipping is too high a price to pay. I will not attempt to repair the cracks because the consequences of possible failure are too great.

Anyone know if I can get just the cylinders?
