mult pairs, one tank

These shots were from a 130G tank with two pairs of clowns befor a third pair was added, then some shots with the third pair. All three were in there for nearly two years, the original two pairs were in the tank for much longer - for quite a while before and after the BSBs were added/sold and the second pair also started laying after the BSBs were sold. The carpet and the BSBs were sold with the intent of replacing it with a better colored nem. Now keep in mind these photos were not taken to prove anything, i hunted them up out of my files to explain earlier comments, I have done this many times over the years, well decades, so I am not looking for debate on the subject or interested in anyone that wants to question the honesty. Just thought some would enjoy and maybe have a question or two as to why it works for some and not for others. - mark

no argument here but you can never see all three pairs in the tank at one time, you cant even see two so they could all be individual pics from different times unless i just cant see right.

Define "pair". I see a lot of juveniles. Just saying. When those maroons mature, forget asking whether the other clowns will be safe, since they will be long gone - ask whether your arm will be safe when you reach into the tank

I don't know a whole lot about polymnous but those are certainly juvie Maroons. These are also the kinds of threads that can only cause trouble and lead to new reefers hurting animals.

You were all unanimously wrong on the age / maturity of the female maroon. even the smaller / younger male was in the tank longer than you geniuses estimate the age of the female. The maroons were laying at the time. I would estimate she has now been in that same tank for around 7 years now and if you read more carefully I stated clearly that the other two pairs were not yet laying and that the BSBs were purchased not long before the shots were taken. The female maroon is still about the same size but much darker in color.

The maroons are still in the tank and the percs were removed recently and yes both pairs were laying at the same time. Those four clowns were in that tank together for over four years before the percs were moved to another tank.

You geniuses need to tone down the arrogance, pride, and pretense.

I only had the BSBs in the tank for a few months. But there were no problems with them and the mature dominate female maroon and her mate.

Yes, this is true.. I haven't seen anyone say it is impossible to do.. No doubt, with a big enough tank, you can have multiple pairs of clownfish.... Putting 3 pairs in a 130g tank is not a enough room....
