DrDNA- I'm attempting a gigantea only after maintaining many other types of anemones and invertebrates over the years. The RC Anemone FAQ at the top of this forum gives a pretty good description of the husbandry required for
S. gigantea, which might be one of the most difficult anemones to maintain in captivity.
Massive flow, intense lighting and a healthy specimen are basic requirements with this species, but it still doesn't guarantee success.
All seems to be going very well with this anemone so far, but I don't feel completely comforatble saying so. Knock on wood.
Funny thing. I remember when I started this hobby 18 years ago. I had great success with the gigs.. I was running a system II on power compacts .. It's amazing how much this hobby has changed!
