Multiple Carpets in same tank

Soggy Pockets

In Memoriam
Is there a remote problem of housing two carpets within the same tank? Tank is a 180 gal. cube (36x36x30) with a 60 gal fuge and 100 sump, lighting is a 400w 20k.
Thanks in advance for your input.

Are they both the same type ?

If so I wouldn't see an issue with it. In fact I have two Haddonis in one of my tanks.

If they are different species, I personally wouldn't do it. Besides the possibility of chemical warfare, there are different care requirements, might be difficult to keep both happy.

If they are both healthy and the same species, there shouldn't be a problem. There is a remote possibility of a sickly newly introduced anemone causing an established anemone to become ill.

Thx so far for the input. Both are S. Haddoni's, and I will make certain to check the health of the new animal prior to purchasing.

Assuming the health is okay, then they should be fine together.

In the past I actually had two of them touching,

Not touching in my other tank, ( the blue one is the same, but the green one is different )

I would not consider this as remote. I think they can get infection just like everything else. I have lost a healthy carpet that I had for several year when I added a new carpet that turn out to be sick. The new one died in 2 weeks and the old one go down hill and died two weeks after that.

My problem with having two carpets in the past is that the new one could not find a good place to set its foot in. The older, bigger carpet took the best spot in the tank in terms of lighting/water flow while the newer roamed around looking for another good spot. Unfortunately while there were spaces on the sand for it to settle down it was either too shady or too high of a flow (sps dominated tank). The newer carpet shrunk and died in a few weeks.
