Multiple Clowns pairs in 150 gallon?

Is a 150 gallon big enough to have a couple different pairs of clownfish in or would I be asking for trouble? I don't plan on having any anemones in the tank. I already have a pair of tank bred Ocellaris Clowns in my 60 gallon, and would really like to get a pair of Tomato Clowns as well once my 150 build is complete. Live aquaria says as long as I introduce them together I should be fine, but I would rather hear people's actual experiences with housing multiple pairs of clowns in the same tank.

It may be possible in a 150g but it is certainly a risk. Mixing species of clownfish usually ends badly, especially with the aggressive nature of Tomato clowns.

Ok, thats kinda what I was thinking. You guys just confirmed my suspicions. It's a bummer, but thats just the way it's got to be.

If you want to do multiple pairs of clowns, you could probably do a pair of pink skunks, or true percs with those occy's. Just set them up with enough anemones on either side of the tank that they won't be interested in going crazy with each other in my opinion.

No. When one pair begins spawning they'll take out the other pair.

I agree Adrienne,I had two pair of clowns in my 240-8ft tank with about 13 or 14 rbtas. That lasted about an hour until they would meet in the middle and fight like crazy. The percs would go all the way over to the other end and chase the occs out of the other anemones. It really is a hit and miss, and I won't be doing that again.
