Multiple Leopard Wrasses

I have a Mauritius Jewel Leopard wrasse that will be going into the DT this weekend (after 4 weeks of QT) and was interested in getting a Chaoti and maybe other leopard wrasses. What are their temperaments towards other leopards?

Thanks.

To my knowledge, it's hit/miss when mixing leopards. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I haven't been able to establish any clear patterns to the success stories.

That being said, I think with a tank as large as yours you'll be fine.

Thanks Hunter. The Jewel will actually be the first wrasse in the tank since I went through hypo and took the others I didn't want out.

I might hold off a bit since the Jewel and Chaoti look similar in shape and color.

It is hard to predict but my guess is that multiple males will not work. Choati is very sensitive to tank mates and alkalinity changes.

+1 to adult males having possible problems. I would imagine mixing males of different species in a 220 might have its own trial and error. Every fish is different. For the most part leopards are very non aggressive.

I have 2 different species of females in my 150 without problems. The regular is 3 years old, and semi male(coloring showing up in the face only). The black has been in the tank a year and is still a pretty small female. Both started out as 1" females. Both ignore each other all day long.
