Must go conventions?

I was just correcting the 2 names so people wouldn't go looking for a firstwave put on by DWF. DFWMAS puts on NextWave.

And thank you for staying civil & adult. More people want to attend events that are professionally represented. :)

:eek2: I wrote First Wave? Ugh, I know very well it is NextWave, sorry for posting the wrong name (

Okay, so, scratching MAX & SeaMax off the list. Next?

At this point the "big show" is RAP without a doubt, it is worth the travel, for local convenience and the fact that is a very good show as well BAYMAC.

I think you made a good decision

binoy 415,

I am sorry that your thread was derailed (temporarily at least)

Here is ONE of numerous threads that list the various shows without bombarding you their agendas or Clique Clubs:

http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2086458&highlight=marine+aquarium+expo

Just for reference: Individuals who tell me to go to Lowes but NOT HomeDepot (or visa versa) are immediately suspect IMHO if not outright insulting to my intelligence.
(in case you've missed my point: I've never ONCE seen hobbyists try to convince someone that Coral Farmers Market is a far better show then Baymac, or visa versa)
"if it stinks like rotten fish, then its probably rotten fish"

Thank God most people are mature & wise enough to make decisions for themselves.

I have many responsibilities/people to help, so will not respond to this thread again.

I hope you continue to find the information you seek. : )

and ONE last thing:
Reef Central has a wonderful feature that lets you search out the post history of other members.
I highly recommend exploring this feature to help you better identify the character and personality traits of some individuals.
(ie: do they actually HELP other hobbyists or simply use the forums to exploit for personal gain) ; )

Nobody is saying that because there has not been a BA-CFM for several years now. How can you say go to the BA-CFM is there isn't one. lol

No problem at all. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and it's good to see each ones view and opinions about the events good or bad. Just love the arguments though. Keep the fire burning. Thanks LOL :uzi:

What type of person would post such a comment?

Assuming you are referring to my post!

I have attended both BAYMAC and RAP. Both shows were a great experience. While I was contemplating attending MAX, you have successfully changed my mind against it at this point.

The thread title is "Must Go To Conventions". No one bashed yours, folks simply stated that RAP was a "MUST GO TO CONVENTION". Your constant whining through out this thread reminded me of the poor little kid picked last for the kickball game in elementary school.

Accept it, and build on it. See why maybe yours was not mentioned as one not to miss, there must be a reason for all the attention that is given RAP.

And one last thing, about your signature. Which are you? Because you are coming off as one that needs to be liked.

I know I am a new guy on here, but whats with all this burning?

I have been to both MAX and RAP, and they were great in their own ways. They are apples and oranges. Of couse I have heard people who only like one or the other, but ultimately they are both great fun IMO.
RAP is more geared to coral trade, which is fun, but at the same time MAX lets you discover where the industry is going with new developments.

I plan on going to both of them again. And that is my opinion, and hopefully many others'. Because this hobby has enough issues as it is. We have sustainability issues, we have consumer issues, and a panoply of others. If we want to have grandchildren with reef tanks, we should start to be more unified and stop with this inner turmoil, because by attending and promoting consumer shows like MAX, MACNA, and RAP, we are directly lobbying for our hobby.
