Hello Everyone!!

I am upgrading my 75 gallon reef tank to a 100 gallon oceanic 60''x 18'' x 23'' dual overflow tank. I bought it from a fellow reefer and it needed some cleaning and painting. Here are some pictures of my 75 gallon and the 100 gallon build so far. I had to sand and paint the stand, I also painted the back of the tank. I had to buy all new bulkheads because there was a leak coming from the old ones so just to be safe I replaced them all. It also took me forever to scrap off all the coralline algae on the overflows and I resealed the corners of the tank because the silicone was pealing off a little. The whole setup came with 2 150 watt Coralife MH with power compacts, mag 7 return and a acrylic sump.

Here are some more pictures of the plumbing and some of the aquascaping. I am going to get some sand today and start filling it with water. Can anyone tell me how I can upload pictures in a bigger size, I am having trouble finding a better way to upload.

Wow, your old tank is amazing! Use a service like photobucket to host your photos. Then use the img tags to link the photos inr your thread. It's the icon with the mountain and yellow sky.

Here are the pictures a little bigger. :)
Here is my 75 gallon up and running

Bought the 100 gallon from another reefer, needed some cleaning and I resealed the corners.

The stand was nice, cleaned it, sanded and painted it, also put new hinges on the old ones were all rusty.

Got the tank cleaned did a water test and there where no leaks where I resilconed, there were only leaks from the bulkheads, so I ordered all new bulkheads. Also painted the back of the tank.

Here is a picture of the tank and stand.

Here is the plumbing, the tank came with an acrylic sump and mag 7 pump, I might upgrade the sump tank in the future. I have my BRS dual reactor and my auto top off on the side just need to plumb it.

Here is 90lbs of dry rock and the finished aquascaping.

I have the lights and canopy on. The lights are 2 24'' 150 watt MH with power compacts. This is my first time with MH. I am going to use 14k Phoenix bulbs with 2 blue and 2 purple power compact lights.

Here is picture of the tank being filled and the tank filled and running, have carbon running also. The overflows are not too loud , the only loud thing is my reactor ( the mj 1200 pump impeller) and where the drain pipes are in the water. I need to find a good way to secure the filter socks to the pipes to quiet the sound.

Thank You :)

I used the razor and soaked it with vinegar. It took a while but I got most of it off. I wish there was a easier way to get it off.

Looks awesome!

Just one suggestion: The bottom black trim/black plastic bracing (whatever it is called) can you paint that or at least cover it with something? I think it will look so much better. Just being OCD though...LOL things like that bother me.

But I love your 75G. Thats a sweet tank.

I really like the Phoenix 14K MH's. I used this bulb in the past. Lots of POP in the corals.

Look forward to seeing what happens with this tank. :D

Thanks :)
I was going to paint it but it might start to peel after time (since it's plastic) . I will probably put a trim around it lol I know it doesn't really match haha

I can't wait to get the Phoenix bulbs and start growing some corals hahahaha, I have heard so much about them :)

Tank cleared up a bit still not crystal clear, might change the filter pads in the sump. I don't have a skimmer on it yet, I am getting a bubble magnus curve 7. It is not in stock until beginning of December so I am going to have to use the skimmer that's on my 75 for now.
Here are a couple pictures of the tank so far.

Thank You!!!!!
I just got my order in of 3 hydor evolution 1150 gph powerheads, 2 150watt phoenix bulbs and 2 420nm and 2 460nm power-compacts. Never had MH lights before always had T5 and Loved them so this is a big switch hahaha. I'll have to see if I like T5 or MH better lol :)

I just switched from all T5 to MH w/T5. It is a big change but so far I'm loving it.

Your tank looks good so far. Good luck with the new system!

Great work on the restoration. Krylon fusion paint will work on the trim. Sand the gloss down a bit before painting.

I just ordered a Curve 7 two weeks ago. Backordered until Dec?? My LFS did not tell me this.

Thanks it took some time lol I will try the paint. I know I have been waiting since September what is taking them so long hahaha :)

I couldn't wait so I just picked up the NAC7. Same pump and essentially the same skimmer. It is just missing the updated clamps that hold the body to the base plate. I can live with the the thumb screws.
