My 120G SPS System

So I've decided, again, to add a frag tank attached to my main system. I have done this before but was never really happy with the design and appearance of the system.

I've ordered a RR Deep Blue 30gal Rimless Frag tank. The dimensions fit my space and offer plenty of room. Should arrive on Wednesday.

I put together the stand today.

Still waiting on the new frag tank to arrive. Was supposed to be here last Wednesday but for whatever reason "wasn't put on the truck". Quickly running out of space for frags in my display.

Hopefully it will be here this Wednesday. . .

This is an awesome build, your attention to detail and those beautiful coral is what has gotten me so excited about this hobby. I'll be following along and thanks for the info about what you feed your coral and lighting schedule, I'll be using a Radion XR30w pro and would hate to start off by burning up everything in the tank.

Thanks

Remember if you have pros they will be quite a bit more powerful. I have the gen 2 xr30s. IMO the pros are really only for very deep tanks. I don't own them though so take that with a grain of sand.

I finally got my frag tank set up. No I am starting to move a few frags over.

Used some black PVC which came out looking very nice. My goal is to have as few connections as possible. So far just a 1" PCV, 1/2" return silicone tubing, vortech cable and lighting cable.

Working on re-purposing an old led fixture I made a few years ago to replace the PAR bulb which is woefully inadequate to this task.

This is an old LED fixture I build about 6 years ago.

Be sure to notice the deadly rats nest of wires haha.

I have since learned that neatness is extremely important. I disassembled this light and it now looks like this:

The drivers are located with the rest of the system electronics. I have the APEX programmed to mimic the lighting schedule of my radions via the 0-10V (Variable speed?? why did they use this name?) outputs. Ill see how that works out.

Beautiful tank, really luvin that aquascape

Thanks. I assume you are referring to the rock wall Aquascape? I took that down about a year ago now when I restarted my system. I do rather miss it though. It had a nice effect that the new more minimal aquascape doesn't. My plan is to let the acros grow out to fill the empty space. But this takes a while.

My aquascape looks like this now.

All of these we're grown from frags either taken from my original colonies or acquired in the last year. The oldest frags in this shot are around 11 months with most closer to 6-7months.

yeah I was. Thought they might have been acans looking at the other pic. shows how ignorant I am lol.

No you aren't the only one who has thought that. Also scale is hard to tell a lot of the time. That colony is about 10" across but if it was smaller it looks somewhat like an a an colony.

Sweet reef! I really like the space you left for the acros to grow out. Is that a red dragon on the bottom left?
