My 125 Re-Build

Look at the far right of the pic, that big red pole supporting that metal beam is supporting the floor.
This is a pretty general comment, but it never ceases to amaze me what people will see in pictures that are definitely not part of the intended subject matter...

You saying that reminds me of John seeing something like the blue glow from your PS3 or something like that in a pic and pointing it out, Brian.

I can see in your smiley NeveSSL that you forgot to put your bridge in this morning ;)
Good job on the stand build MVlk. It looks very solid.

Thx FFrankie. Stand should be in place this weekend along with main plumbing from stand to sump.

Just moved the stand down to the new fish room.

Next few steps out of the 100 or so that seem to remain...

- Re-add the stud to the right of the tank.
- Cut rough in hole for the tank opening.
- Rough plumbing for tank to sump drain. May have to wait as I am thinking of building another stand for the sump to sit with a shelf above for water reserve and salt mix.
- Electrical. Going to add 2 new 15 amp circuits.

Looking good man, you're a lot further along than I am. I did talk to Ocea yesterday and my tank should be ready next Saturday so maybe I'll be able to make some more progress soon.

josh_tn, hope your tank comes in soon... waiting definitely is the hardest part about this hobby.

I had a good morning with some decent progress. I got the opening for the tank cut out. I will start cutting trim for the outside this week. Electrical goes in Monday morning and hope to have the sump plumbing all complete by next weekend.

All three kiddies took good naps this afternoon... so got some more progress. Installed drain plumbing from the tank to the sump. Also picked up a Pyrex cutting board for the skimmer to sit on in the tub. This adds needed rigidity so that it does not tip over.

The plumbing under the tank will mate to the built in overflows via flex tubing. I have two return pumps which will connect directly via standard vinyl tubing.

Brandon, On the wall to the left of the tank is a TV with the computer/game console hooked up. Big comfy sectional is kiddie corner to the tank. With this move, I will probably need to move a TiVo downstairs as I will be spending more time there. Was going to take a picture but I even though we have a good security system, thought it best not to advertise my stuff :(

Next year I'd definitely like to volunteer to host a meeting. I have a ton of room for everyone. Only hesitation for this year was the age of my kids and the fact my tank is not in a presentation state. all should be good for next year though!

...In the mean time, get some water in it! :D

Brandon

Tank is exsiting and waiting on the move. I got the electrical in this morning so nothing is really holding me back from doing the move. I will create a new thread begging for help in the next day or two. :)

Move date set for April 17th. I am doing final prep currently.

My 100 Gal Rubbermaid had a leak near the bottom on the side. I was able to patch with some epoxy stick but did not trust it for long term use as a sump. I picked up a replacement from Tractor Supply. (The said they would replace the 100) They were out of 100's so I upgraded to a 150. Bigger is better right? :)

Here is the sump running before I hook it up to the tank. I have an extra QuietOne 3000 for water circulation. I am using one 250 and one 400 watt heater to get the water in my basement up to temp. I'll need to come up with a better way to mount the heaters.

Yahoo! The move happened today (Last night now...). Several of our great club members came over to help. I am a little tired to post the full update, so this will be a prelude to tomorrows posting.

Tank was knocked down and moved to new location by about 8PM. I finished the new plumbing hookups, transferred rock water and finally fish by 1:30.

Still a ton todo, but some pretty good progress. Most important of all, my wife loved how quiet it was watching TV in the room where the tank used to be.

Full tank from the front. Trim work and painting of walls pending...

Full tank from the rear. Just need to redo the electrical, hang the light and 50 or so odd tasks.

Good job on the site prep, it all fit together just right. You are going to have a real pretty setup when all the trim is on. You made some excellent choices in getting ready for that move.

is that the Huge 50# piece of LR in there? If so then the pics do not do it justice. Glad to see you got it all going again. It is going to be a real nice setup.

I'm fairly certain it is in there, Rick. The one on the right in the front pic. :)

And yeah, those pics don't do his setup justice.

You've done a great job, Michael! I love it!
