My 150 is ready

Finally got my 150 setup and fish, LR and LS transfered over. Happy to report that all fish and inverts made the move just fine. The Niger Trigger has a few nip marks on his fins from the Humu. But that's because I had to hold them in a 38gal overnight. So what do you think of the aquascaping? I can still move stuff around. And yea, I still need to clean the glass and put the canopy on.

Also, since this will be a FOWLR, I'm only using 1 250w metal halide pendant. Is that enough lighting?

Since your fish only, you really don't need any lighting :)

But since you already have the MH and you have LR, maybe add some actinic tubes to balance out the spectrum. And, from seeing the pic (very nice too!), I personally would add another MH to evenly distribute the lighting (looks like a spotlight in the middle) or some daylight tubes. The LR would like the balanced lighting, especially to help with Coraline algae if there is any on the rock.

Personally I really like the one light over the tank myself. Gives the tank some nice depth. Feels like a deeper water tank. Maybe you could go with a 20 000 K bulb and go even more for that feel if you like it. Or as someone above said, add actinics.

For my last few tanks, I have used just one 250W MH pointed diagonally down the length of a 6' tank. You get very cool shadows and the light kind of fades away at the far end of the tank.

Looks great. You did a very nice job on the aquascaping. So what is there besides a foxface, humu, niger, and what looks like a yellow coris?

The light I have also has 2 rows of white and blue LEDs on each side that were not on when I took that picture. At first I wasn't sure how it'd work with just one light source in the middle, but it gives it a nice deep feel, with the darker sides.

That's all the fish that are in there right now: humu, niger, foxface, canary wrasse and a maroon clown. The maroon I had to move to my smaller tank because the niger really didn't like it. It started picking on it in the smaller tank and I hoped in this larger one, it'd leave it alone. But nope, that niger sees it and it goes nuts. Doesn't bother any of the other fish, just the maroon.

Yeah I agree - it makes it seem like a real spot in the ocean - like there is an overhang on the sides which block the light from getting down this "deep".

A halide is definitely plenty bright for the fish.
