My 1st 180 RR Project, Cust Built stand/canopy Tunzes etc..

Wow, u make me sound dumb. J/K, i have one and still cant figure it out, but u just gave me some confidence. Now I'm a go mess with it. Thanks Mike.:D

LOL na doood its all good, I just can figure things out like that, might take me allittle though!!! If ya need any help with it I can try and help ya!!!Is it a video camera or just a camera with vid options??

I just figured out the whole horrible vid thing, its because the upload from the hard disc to the net and the free membership I have, it jeapordises the quality!!!

Well the 1st thing I would have to ask is, does it have a feature that can covert it to digital output. If not than I would think ya need certian software on ya computer to transfer that for ya....how old is it??

I had over two years, I can transfer pix, I can use it as a Web Cam. It has a USB cable. Check it out:

Sharp Viewcam VL-Z5, it uses mini dv tapes

OK yesterday I got the B-Ionic 2 part additive, I started adding it this morning, and noticed that all the polyps on the stonys were out, when I usually turn the lights on there in and when I fed the tank the Ionic stuff the lights were off, but when I turned them on they were all out, so I assume they are sucking up the Calcium and Alk!!! I am excited to see hopefully these corals taking off soon!! Has anyone noticed after adding this, that they corals started looking better and growning more?

Everything else that I added yesterday is so far doing great!! Fishy's swimming around and Toadstool is comming out and everything else looks pretty good. Clam well its doing what clams do NOTHING!!! Just looking colorful.. He likes to twitch to make the sand stir up for some reason.....

Question about the Toadstool, Should he be in a high flow spot? And also should he be up towards the lights?? Thanks

my toadstools get blasted but they also did fine in low flow areas before the tunze's. in low flow they sometimes got some kind of film that would come off once in a while. not since being blasted though. not sure if it's related. tank was new during low flow times.
not thinking it's the calcium or buffers that the corals are missing but probably some of the other elements included with it. good luck figuring out which one.

"good luck figuring out which one."

What kind elements are ya talking about like Iodine and trace elements?

Isnt there a certian kinda trace elements I can add also??

Anyone have any suggestions on additives other than the B-Ionic stuff I am using that will help things out?? :D

I would like to hear success stories!!!! :D

Thanks

you are adding trace when adding the bionic. I do not know exactly which elements are in there. iodine/iodide is normally skimmed pretty quickly as far as I am told. daily or weekly additions of potassium iodide are for the most part a good idea. get quality stuff it seems more expensive but it is more potent and will end up lasting longer.

Hey mike and rob, check out my new lion fish pictures on my thread :D :D :D

How's everything going mike? Wife is back in town so finally got some good shots with the camera of my new stuff... check it out

Ahh ok sounds good. I just tested the Alk and Cal again and everything seens to be in check I assume

Alk-.46 ml- dKH 8.6
Cal-.16 420

Hey Bobby ok Ill check em out now dood!!!!

I just also started using the kent 2-part stuff for my daily additives, and that seems to be keeping my Alk & Cal in check

Sweet ,, ya tanks looking good, as far as mine is going, its doing pretty good. Ive got 4 fish now and some pepp shrimp

Got a Leather Toadstool and a Crocea Clam also ohh and a open brain thingy!!!!

I'm thinking about gettig a toadstool, I think that would add some color and variation to the tank, I just like the look of toadstools... Their a pretty cool leather.

Yeah there pretty neat, I just hope the Clown that Joey got me will host in him, thatll be cool , I always wanted that :D

Trace elements are a crock of crap. If you do regular (or pseudo regular) water changes and maintain your calc/alk/mag requirements (MEASURE!!!), you'll be fine!

Read this thread for more details (from the pros) on the overcomplexity introduced by extra additives, etc. It is a priceless thread of info. :)
