did you try the newspaper? www.sptimes.com I think it is. are you going to set it on the floor in the other room or build something short for it to go on? also why is it you want a 6 foot long sump? if you do a 6 ft long sump do you think you want something 2 foot front to back? so you can fit a big skimmer in it or modify your existing skimmer? having so much more water you may want to think about needing to upgrade your skimmer in te future.

Anywho, Yeah I cheaked the paper and e bay and tbo.com . Ive tried everything that I can think of, OK the reason for me wanting a 6ft sump is because the socks in the existing on is bunched up together (making it alittle hard to change and replace), plus the skimmer and some rock rubble I have in there makes it hard to move thing clean things and accliment things. I think with this skimmer I have which I believe is the same one you have and the extra water volume it would equal the water volume of your tank, so how come I would need to upgrade it? Unless Im wrong about what skimmer you have (remember now Im forgetfull!!), I have the 8-2. If they made a 5ft tank I would settle for that, but I dont think they do, so thats why I just said a 6ftr!! If you really think an extra 2 foot by 8 inches of water will make or break that skimmer, than Ill just stick with the 75, I DONT want to have to buy another skimmer!!

well I am thinking your on the skimming vurge rihgt now. I have an extra 8 inches in height over your skimmer. I also have an extra pump recirculating on my skimmer which really helped out the performance. by upgrading I mean adding a pump or getting a bigger skimmer. you can do alot with another pump. I think adding another pump would be good for another 100 gallons or so. just guessing. I don't really know exactly what to say about the skimmer because it matters in so many different ways. how many fish ,what kind of corals , how heavy you feed, if you pee in it? since you are getting stonies I just figure it's hard to over due and easy to be too small. they also do make a 5 ft tank that is a 110. not sure of exact dimensions.
not trying to tell you what to do here just trying to make you think of everything this time before you jump and do something then want to or have to change something again. remember I have done it over and over and over and still want to change alot of things. I wish I had more room because I want a prop tank and a seahorse tank for margie. oh and then I want a big fish tank I can swim with big angels. no matter what you will never been done or satisfied until you sell it.

OK, well it sounds to me that I prob should just stick with this 75 I have, I was thinking and looking under the stand and I think that if I just have it out of the bottom of the stand it would make it a HECK of alot easier for me to change socks and do maitance on it.I forgot to answere a question that you asked about me putting it on the floor or building alittle stand for it, I am going to build a 1 foot stand for it just to get it off the ground, that way the drains will still be able to do what they gotta do.
I know ya not telling me what to do, but I do take what ya say seriously!! I would like to do that mod eventually (make it a rec skimmer)
I can alway add plumb another tank to that 75 like a frag tank or fuge right, If I ever wanted to??

of course thats the good thing about pvc you can change it anytime you want. the extra water is always good with a bigger sump or whatever. adding a frag tank would be really easy in the other room. I just wouldn't bother with a bigger one if you want it to be cheap . let me know when you want to mod the skimmer and you can get a new pump and order the seals and I have te drills. well you probably have that bit also. I need to help jason/daddyjax do his also if he hasn't already.

OK cool man, sounds great. OK welp I will keep the 75 hooked up to it , cause I thought alittle more about it and thought that if I add a frag tank that will also add volume to the display tank and If I added a 6fter thats also extra = a bigger skimmer!! So ya right ill stay with the 75 and just add a frag tank, now as far as the size of a frag tank how does a 55 sound, I can get one for $20 beans right down the road!! Used of course!!
that would be more than enough since you don't have anything to put in it 
. a 55 is a good size. I personally have never had one. if someone wants a frag I break it off right then and there. some people don't do that but I have my hands full with what I have.
I would do the skimmer mod. anyway. even if you don't add another drop of water. the improvement is crazy in my opinion.

OK, yeah Id like to do that mod also. Have you seen my skimmer in action b4, it already has tons of lil bubbles, by adding another pump could that be possibly too much and the bubbles would fight eachother??Cause if your skimmer is taller it can handle that....blah blah blah I dont really know what Im trying to ask !!!LOL But the main question is, It will improve but not be too much right??? What Sedra pump should I add to it?? 5000? It already has the 9000 on it

well yes it can happen. supposedly it can at least. i think ted had a 9000 and 5000 on his 8-2 I can't rememeber. john said it was too much and ted said it worked very well. no offense to anyone but I have to say ted looked at it everyday and if he said it was good I have to go with that. I would feed with the 5000 and recirc the 9000. that is how mine is. I had an 8-2 with a 9000 and it was ok. and just that it was ok. I had a 9000 on my skimmer now and it was ok but the difference is really that huge recirced. I can turn off my recirc pump and it will be just like having one pump. then I will turn on the recirc pump and let you see. also most people do it different than I do. most people make it counter current. they inject water with no air in towards the top of the skimmer and only recirc the one pump or even multiple pumps mid way down the body. as far as I am concerned it works but I really don't think it works as good but i have never side by side tested 2 of the same skimmers done both ways. most peoples suction side of the pumps are about as high as normal inlet pipes on the skimmer body. then there inlet to the skimmer body is above that. I like the extra couple inches of body and a whole bunch more air. come check mine out then look at someone elses and decide which way you want to do it. we can do it either way and both will be an improvement. I see more air helping more than turbidity.

Joey- I wish it was comming time to frag, cause that would mean that the tank is filled up!! Im afraid that it will be awhile till its time for me to frag, BUT when I do I will keep ya in mind and all the others that have helped me. Also man, I am hosting a meating at my house Sept 2nd I believe it is which is a Sat and your more than welcome to come by, there will be some food and people swapping frags all over the place!! The only thing that I have that I might get rid of is some Xenia until things start really taking off...

LOL, Welp this is my 2nd meeting and dont know if its cool or not, I wouldnt think it would matter as long as ya dont get stupid drunk!!!
