My 1st 180 RR Project, Cust Built stand/canopy Tunzes etc..

OK heres the stand in the making, The corners are going to be pillers and the top of stand where the bottom of tank is going to be fancy crown moulding, bottom with be fancy base moulding, than once its all done, its going to be stained a redish color, more pics comming as progress proceeds!!!!

OK, I think Im done for today. Heres so far what I have done, still got to build it up more 3/4" fill in holes and corners than crown or fancy trim, havent decided yet......

Mike, it's looking really good. You do fine work. Are you going to paint it? If so which color? What did you decide about a refugium? Have you ordered a skimmer yet? The ASM is a good choice. Get it online, as the store can't beat the price. Let me know if you need chaeto for it. I have about a quart or so I am not using. It is pretty full of pods too. It will give you an excuse to come see my tank. How long before it's wet?

Hey man, thanks its taking me alittle to get it completed but im taking my time, Im going to stain it, probally a redish oak kind of color, not sure on that yet, as far as a skimmer, im goin to get the ASM G3 for it, as far as refigium, im trying to find a 75 gallon tank for that and need to know the deminsions on all the acrylic sections for it, as im not to sure on how to make it, yeah id like to see your tank and I would love it if you can come here and see my 65 and this new 180. As far as when itll be wet?????? Hmmm im not sure of that myself!!! I still need to order the lights and get tons of LS and LR for it, but 1st I need to get the (75 gall tank) refuigm and the skimmer and I need to get the bulkheads from you guys, than run the plumming, cant wait for that, that kinda stuff I like as well as building things out of wood.!!!!

wow really love the way the stand is turning out, and will much better IMO stained rather than painted. i am also getting ready to build my stand and canopy for my 75 gal. hopefully soon and may use your ideas if thats cool. but i have seen alot of nice ideas so not sure yet. are you gonna make a canopy also? keep up the beautiful work

Thanks alot Kau_cinta_ku appreciate it, yeah im planning on staining it, 1st conditioning it than staining than sealing it. Yeah go right ahead and use my ideas if you like. And yes once I order my lights and they come in than Im going to build a canopy for it.

looking good. I would think that a 180gal is better than a 150, but it all depends on what you want to do Good luck

Cutiewitbooty_- Yeah Im happier with this 180, now I gotta get that 150 out the garage

More pics comming today, gonna do LOTS and LOTS of sanding, 1st starting off with a gritty paper than working to a 150 grit , and finalize it with 220 for a nice and smooth (baby's butt) finish!! Ohh and put some base moulding on it also. Next thing is going to be choosing the color of stain, Im thinking a nice deep redish stain? Not sure got to see what the good ol HD offers. Im thinking of using some EXT. sealer and than some EXT. satin white paint for the inside.
