My 1st 180 RR Project, Cust Built stand/canopy Tunzes etc..

OK I got the trim stained so far, It doesnt really look this red in person, my camera is making it look way more redish for some reason. Tommorow I will be applying the polycrylic, Im thinking a semi gloss, got to go to HD and see how shiny that is in the poly.

Hey depending on the camera you may need to check / set:

Color Tempature ( a value in Kelvins like 6500)
color balance / white level

saturation

for example color temp was set for daylight but you shoot indoors it throws the colors off.

do the other colors in the room look "right" in your pictures??

get a white wall or a sheet of the "110+ white" printer paper

and shoot that in the same room and then see how the photo looks.

as a last resort use the tools in a photo program to adjust color balance / saturation.

Hope that helps.

OK I tried some things, I think this looks alittle better, In person the stand looks more redish, brown. I think its just my camera, its a Olympus D-560 not the best but also not the worst!!! But thanks again for your help!!

wow i really like the color of that stain. actually the darker red brings it out great. can i ask the color of stain? and also did you use oak for the wood?

Thanks, the stain color is Sedona Red 222 Minwax, its the regular Minwax not the gel. Thats only one coat, wifey and I are thinking of leaving it like that, It seems to have darkend up some since it dried, I took those last 2 pics about an hour or so after I got done staining it. It looks alittle browner/redish in person, hop on the next flight to FL and Ill show ya~!!!!! LOL The only thing left is PolyCrylic or some other type of wood protector. The wood that I used was all select pine, just tons of sanding, 1st started with 100 grit than 150 than 220, I sanded till my skin was raw!!!

Ha Ha Jamie!!!!Thats it, Im yanking all my pics and leaving........JK!!............... LOL, yeah that'll also help, Ive been doing my research, I read ya thread, food poisoning STINKS!!!! Been there B4!!! :eek2:

Jamie, I got the 75 now, when you have the time can we go over more exstensivaly the demensions of the glass that I need to get cut? I just need to know the height of each glass piece. I would like to get to that this week sometime. Thanks man

very nice. love the way it shines. if you need any help with sump let me know. i just built mine and love the way it is working
sump--->return<---fuge. do you know how your gonna set yours up yet?

The most impressive thing is that it was all done on white burbur(sp) carpet! My wife would have killed me for even thinking of coming near carpet like that with any stain. :)

kau_cinta_ku--- I would love to see a design from you! I just got my 75 gall for all that, and thats what I bascially want to do.

Konadog--- LOL yeah shes cool, she doesnt care, I give her the good ol "Nothing will happen" line !! But NO stain on carpet so far!. My biggest challange is keeping my 5 1/2 year old son away from it when Im staining/sealing it!!
