My 220 Gallon SPS Dominate Build Thread

Looking good Bill. If you want, I can probably come in Mid-May when I have a bit more time with my DSLR and we can take some photos/video. We just got some pretty good video of Darryl's mindblowing tank.

Thank you for the kind words bennr, consumed corals, dvanacker and jroovers.

....and Thank you for the terrific offer Jordan. I definitely would like some better photos and a video of my SPS tank at this stage. PM me in when you are ready in May.

:)

This is a beautiful tank with some very nice selection of corals. I notice that your coral colour is very good. In one post on the previous page you mentioned that you thought you bleached one coral, but later reliased that you starved it. What steps did you take to "feed" this coral? Any specific products/foods dosed? I have one or two pale corals and would like to feed my corals a bit more but not sure what would be suitable and direct.I have a 47G tank, so with small fishes I can only feed so much to get fish poop which most people say is the best coral food. Many thanks for your advice/thoughts.

Thank you sahin, I am following your new thread with great interest as well.

I have attached 3 photos I took of one of my Montipora. The first photo shows it's colour before my system went to ULNS, the second shows it a week after it bleached out and on the road to recovery and the third is how it looks today. As you can see it has almost recovered.

The steps to recovery were as follows:

I stopped using Prodibio BioDigest and BioPTim
Fed my fish ONLY PE Mysis
Added Aquavitro FUEL
Fed my reef Reed Maricultures Oyster Feast twice per week

Good Luck with yours and I look forward to watching your progression unfold here.

Cheers!

Wish that were true Darryl, have lots to learn. Here is a FTS that might look a bit bigger:

Changes made since May 2012...

Upgraded 8 x 54w ATI T5 fixture to a 8 x 80w ATI T5 fixture. Coral were growing far faster on the right side 4 feet of the aquarium. I experimented with 2 foot Giesemann infiniti and LEDs on the left but couldn't match the PAR or Colour performance I was getting on the right.

Removed Wavebox.
