My 24g Aquapod! Tons of pics

Ok well not only did i want to show some pics of the acros that i got from Drmaccorals.com, but i thought i would also share some new pics of the tank. Im a bad photographer, but i tried! Tell me what you think. The tank has been setup since September of 2006.

Tank: 24g Aquapod

Lights: Current Sunpod 150w 14K HQI

No fish as of yet, but i do have a cleaner shrimp that i have had for over 3 years. He was my first addition to my first tank!

I also recently added a DIY auto topoff system that im pretty proud of! I have never really done a DIY so im happy with how it turned out. It works great and i have no problems!

Really nice setup. One quick question about your light. I notice you have extra fans. I am planning on putting a 30" sunpod on my 20L. Will heat be an issue? Would I need extra fans? What has been your experience with the light? Thanks

the only thing i dose is Tropic Marin Bio Calcium and if needed a slow alk buffer.

Yea i had a heat issue with my light so i had to add the fan. My temperature was swinging about 4 of 5 degrees per day and i didnt like it so i put the fan on there to blow across the top of the water and i found it works great! All in all i love this light though!

Where did you get that fan from? I am awaiting the arrival of my 24gal Aquapod system and am pretty certain that once summer rolls around will also have an issue with temp swings. That fan almost looks like it was designed to clamp on the back of that tank.

yea i got it from Dr. F&S for only $18. Its called an Azoo fan and comes in sections with 2 or 4 fans. These throw out alot of air! i love it!

Cool - I'll check it out. Looks much better than hooking up a cpu fan to the back of the tank IMO. Very nice looking tank btw. How long after your tank was setup did you start getting the coralline algae growth on the back?

thanks!!! yea the fans are great they look nice and i like how they clip on. I started seeing coraline after id say the first month of the tank being set up! i was supprised it was going that fast but i will be happy when it completely covers the back wall!

please post some pics of the rear of your tank and how you set it up. i brought one and wanted to know where you put the blue sponge pads and where/what kind of skimmer you have.

I'm pretty certain that the blue sponge goes in the right rear corner (if you are facing the aquarium). That's where the intake is. I believe you'll have to pull the sponge up though as I don't believe it's long enough to go from the bottom all the way to the top.

sorry for the delat in getting back.

I actally dont have the blue spnges or bioballs in the tank. What i did is pull all that out of the first chamber and run some chemi pure and purigen. From there i went out and bought some egg grate and cut a piece that fits perfectly into the first chamber. I have some filter floss sitting on top of that to catch any detritus or debris that is in the tank.

In the second chamber is where you see the ATO float valve along with the heater and the return pump. I upgraded mine to the MJ1200 and am very happy with it.

Could you please post pictures of how you set up the first chamber. I put the blue sponge back in mine temporarily because I just made a modification to the flow and knew it would create a storm. Normally I don't have any filtration in there and would like to put something in to catch the big stuff and not just squeeze it into the compartment trying to get it back out.
