My 280g Custom upgrade.....

Steve man that is looking very good! Is that cap a frag I sent up your way? That thing has grown if so. I can see you brought the big boy camera out for the shots...I like it.

Steve,Jumping in and following along! Pretty impressive growth. Noticed you were running an ATS...any pics or info about it? Only got through the first few pages of the thread so far :)

Thanks for tagging along Roni! I will post more info about the scrubber and pictures soon.

Those growth shots are sweet. I love the first picture on post #518. Is that a war coral? Never knew it to grow vertically.

It is a war coral. I got it from a local guy shutting down his tank and from it looks like, he had it propped up high on a piece of branching rock and it just spread from there.

The imagination of things you can do to alter corals with the style or shape of live rock.

Moon Shots

Moon Shots

I was bored last night and was playing around the settings for my cell phone camera....did not know there was a macro setting. The moonlights were on so I took a few shots and pretty impressed with the quality under the moonlights for a cell phone

When good fish go bad.....

When good fish go bad.....

I'm pretty bummed to say that my Orange Spot Rabbit fish has developed a strong taste for my zoas and has wiped my entire tank out in a matter of two days. I have witnessed him ripping into them. I was able to remove the ones that weren't attached to large pieces of rock and now I will try to get him out before he turns to my other softies.

This one really saddens me because when I got this it was only 3 polyps and that was about 18 months ago. I will say that I was warned earlier in this thread by someone and the description on live aquaria says they may go after softies but after being in my 80 for several months with not so much as a peck at anything I had no hesitation when it came time to move it into the big tank. :sad1: Now the difficult task of getting him out.

before the massacre....

and now the after......

That sucks man. I remember seeing those. Once you get the Rabbit out, I know where you can get some more.

It does give me more spots to mount sps now. I tried getting the rabbit fish out for about 30 mins tonight and its not going to be easy.

Good luck with the catch Steve, not always a fun task and the bigger the tank the harder. I've seen several people feed there fish out of a fish trap 2-3 times a week so they are used to the trap. If the fish ever becomes a problem, then when it comes time to catch them...They readily swim into the trap without having to tear your tank apart!

I know this does not help your current situation, but just a thought for the future:)

Bummer Steve. A large fish trap baited with food and no action for a couple days usually gets the fish relatively complacent. I've used it to catch fish, though you tend to catch the most aggressive and vigorous eaters first.

I've had success with a sheet of plexi glass. If you can get them into a corner, then you can make a triangle out of two tank corners and the plexiglass. Then just reach in with the net and grab them. That is...if you can get them into a corner.
