Shes probably is too busy on a golf cart forum planning out what kind of spinner wheels and margarita machine to get with the cart and talking about how it's going to cost her a massive aquarium to get it. :)

Now that is funny Mike!!!

Get her a originally restored golf cart Steve. After that she'l ask you to open an aquarium! :)

After meeting her last night you now know her weakness!!! You should see some of the stuff she finds and then says...."wait until you see what I want to do with this"

Let the planning of the new tank begin!!!! :bounce3::bounce3:

thanks guys! I will say that taking this tank down is making me re-think the size of my next one. I thought I wanted to go bigger but now I am thinking keeping it the same or downsizing a little bit.

I think the size you're at is a good one. I definitely think 36" wide is about as wide as I'd go unless I had a peninsula tank. Then again, it's not my tank so go BIG. 12 ft x 4 ft x 3 ft :)

Well the wall that I officially claimed as mine in the house we are buying is 15ft long so the options are endless but unfortunately the bank account isnt. I would love to do a 96x36x30 but I am thinking that I might go 84x36x????. Im not sure about the height yet. My last tank was 28" and that was a pain getting into to do anything. The room the tank will be in will have a vaulted ceiling so I was thinking about making the stand height higher but I just dont know.

Right now I am trying to find local guys down there that have their sumps set up in their garages and what issues they are faced with during the summer and high heat. There will be no fish room for this build and equipment under the stand is not an option. I started a thread in the equipment forum but I havent gotten any responses so I might start one up in one of the florida or california forums.

equipment under the tank not an option because you don't think it will fit? There is a 400 gallon that vivid did which was installed under the stairs and has all equipment under the tank. I think you could probably swing it and just keep your top off containers in the garage? It would be a tight fit but doable. Given how hot it gets in the summer, I'd hate to think about having a sump in the garage.

The wife wont allow it. She doesnt want to see, smell or hear the equipment.

Steve, sad to see it taken down but off to a new adventure. I'll try to keep an eye out for your thread once you start a new tank!

Congratulations on the new place Steve and getting a wall allocated for the tank though I thought you were going smaller lol. I hear you about that 28 inch height. Now that I look at your old tank up on the stand it's obvious that my days of rolling up my sleeve and reaching down to the bottom are over. :-) I can't wait to aqua scape with the 36 inch depth.

I bet the heat won't be too much of an issue. The temp in your garage will probably only be 10 to 15 degrees above your tank temperature and only a small percentage of the water will be in the sump for a short period. The AC in your house will probably help you out. Colder winter temperatures will probably present a little more of a challenge but nothing that an extra heater can't handle. I betcha the garage setup works out well.
