I Have a intank media basket in my jbj 28g overflow area i love it filter floss is what i use does not block flow at all and its cheap i switch it every week i do a water change. i dont know if that will help you have your skimmer where you would put the media basket.

+1, InTank media basket with filter floss in the top. It catches so much crap from the overflow that I have to replace the floss every other day, I couldn't imagine not having something there as a first line of filtration.

Unfortunately, your skimmer is in that location... That's why I went with an HOB type skimmer instead of the Tunze.

i found a used aquamaxx on another forum, i'm picking it up 2m. ill give it a try.

my tank has been up for a good 2-3 months now. i just started leaving my lights on. i went through a cycle before with my spikes and now i just got my first diatom bloom. do you guys think i'll have a mini cycle? is it safe to add a small cuc? as of now there are tops 5 reef hermits.

The mounting situation really steered me away from Ecoexotix fixture. I had trouble convincing myself to spend the bucks for the Radion, but once I had it running, my doubts instantly disappeared. I us an eShopps 75 HOB skimmer on my JBJ and it works great. Pulls water from the chamber next to the center chamber and puts it back into the return chamber. It interferes with nothing and I am also running an InTank media basket.

I just got my aquamaxx up. How the heck do you get this thing to work

Fill it up as much as you can with salt water. Take the yellow air tube, stick it in the tank water. This will fill it the rest of the way and it should get going from there. Did that make any sense?

Alright got the aquamaxx running. Right now I'm leaving it where it's at just to see which one I like better. As of now, I'm leaning towards the 9002. The aquamaxx is loud! I raised the radion a little bit and I noticed that the tank doesn't heat up as much? Maybe it's my air conditioning.. I'm having a huge micro bubble problem. Any suggestions? Water Level is shown in pics.

Still battling microbubbles. Tried everything. New pump, new fittings, tubes, water level, sponge, idk. I took of the aquamaxx as of now. I'm pretty nervous about the only possible way I can have this on the back of my tank given my light rail situation shown below.

I purchased a cleaner shrimp, star snails, and a tlf reactor for phosban for now.

My niece named him Larry for some odd reason.

i figured out what i was doing wrong with the 9002. i have the wrong in tank cup lol. i have the standard upgraded cup. i just ordered the small version from mediabasket.com.

2 part brs dosing system, another tlf 150, some rubble for my frags as I hate plugs, carbon, gfo, frag kit, and filter floss.

I'm having some serious green algae issues along with a small outbreak of hair algae. I don't feed the tank often. Lights are on 9 hours. Hopefully my new snails and gfo can take care of it. I also replaced my rodi filters. I kind of regret purchasing the Sps frags I should have waited.

I started dosing today for the first time. I am looking forward to the outcome. Right now my calcium is kind of low, 320. Should be up to 450 by Wednesday. Mag is 1400. alk is 8.1 which should bounce up to 9 by tomorrow. I'm glad I made the decision to run carbon. My tank is clearing up and looks much cleaner. I dread frag plugs. When should I mount my frags to rocks? I have half a gallon of rubble. The frags are about 1-2 weeks old.

Thanks man. I kept the tunze. Aquamaxx doesn't fit well due to my radion mount.

right now my radion is set at 48%. i plan on increasing the light up to 70%. 3% every 2-3 days. i honestly do not know why my Ca is so low. :headwally: i am using aquavitro salinty salt. according to BRS and their 2 part recipe, my calc should be 450 by tomorrow.
