Thank you, I love the 3 ft depth. I am going with the island look, Maybe 3 to 4 rock islands placed around the tank with some huge branchrock arch's

i plan on buying the 300 marineland next year can you post picture of the landscape, for some ideas.

Yes, I have the next 2 weeks off so i will be doin some tinkering.
Stand and cannopy come in tomorrow eve. Just need to get my brothers over to help me lift it in place.

Tagging along, hopefully I can use this to convince myself to get something as big when I upgrade. Thanks Creetin agian for getting back to me about the tank.

Creetin congrats on the upgrade I was looking at that tank myself but went with a 4x3x2 from a local acyrlic builder

Creetin,

I just turned my Lumenmax reflectors on today. These are XM 10K 250s. There is a little shading from the cross braces. I also noted some inconsistencies in the light directly under the bulb as well. Here is what you get.

Mike thanks for the pics!!! I am running DE's with phoenix bulbs.
Your tank looks very nice!! How are you feeling about the luminmax eletes???

Tanya, Thanks!! I had 1 acrylic tank and i was so carefull with it and it was becoming a very hard chore not to scracth it cleaning.
I have a 5 year old and with him accidents will happen.
I have always owned glass tanks, and i could not go that way again. Even though it would have weighed half as much!!

Mavgi, Thanks! I will be thinking hard about it. I just may and use a manifold to supply water to all my equipment with it besides the return.

Well the stand is here! I am geeked, I had to bring it in from the cold. 14 degrees F.
Heres a side shot of the doors. Theres doors on each side of the stand.

Well i looked at GEO's site and see that the 618 is 24 inches tall and the 624 is 29. That does not add up. If you add 6 more inches of reactor it should be 30. Could you check yours for height please?

Well I measured the 624 and it is in fact 29" tall. The chamber is 24" and with the base, top and plumbing they makeup the other 5". My guess is that the 618 has an 18" chamber and the rest is the base, top and plumbing as well.

Thanks I just measured the stand and it has 28 inches of clearance. :( I can get a good deal on a 624 so i'll probably go that route, But it will have to be in the room behind the tank where i used to have my sump. I was trying to have it all tidy and in one spot, But the deal is too good to pass up.

BTW i Barely got the stand downstairs!! The stand is 30 inches but with trim it stood a liitle over 31 1/2 inches. Any bigger and i would not have gotten it in. Talk about a close one! Now i know why marineland is only making them 27 inches, With the top trim it would be close to 30. ;)

I hear you on the height. currently mine will not fit under my 90. But I bought it for when I up grade. House just will not sell in MI:( , so the upgrade might be awhile.

You can always extend the effluent though 1/2 “ PVC. Tanglover runs his reactor a ways for the sump and runs his effluent though PVC. Works quite well.

I just looked at my first marineland deep in person. I have to say they look very nice. The height is one thing that will keep me go custom though.

Do you have plans to use proflux again?

Not full blown profilux, I am l;eaning on a diff controller. I liked my profilux, But thier prices are skyrocketing. If i bought the same setup it would cost me twice the price when i first got mine.
Its a long ways away from me going to a controller at the moment so i have time to research.

Ok i ordered my new GEO 624 and Reef fanatic reg and solinoid with 10lb alum co2 tank and coarse arm media. Kinda pricy but i got a deal! About $300 off. I can use every penny!!
Last of the MH lights came in today.
Getting a used 36x18x22 tank for the sump. (55 gal) will get that up and going this weekend and then i can start setting up the tank!!

if you have the profulix already you can upgrade it.

I have one and have seen that, but at what price. From what i have read they havn't mention what it going to cost. I own my unit for almost a year and drop some $$$$$ on it and now I have to upgrade:mad2: .

Sorry Creetin I will stop there.

I have one also. I have everything but the SMS. The controller as is I feel is amazing. So if you dont need the upgrade use what you have No ? To already have what is one of the best controllers on the market and buy another one is silly to me. The money on the new one could buy other stuff you might want or need for the profulix but again thats just my outlook on it. Either way Creetin I know your tank will be sweet :)

Tanya i didnt want to get into it here, Short and simple i sold my profilux.
BTW there are other very good controllers coming out.

creetin i'm going the same route with the 300 marineland but i'm trying to talk my wife into having the tank in the wall. but at worst
i will get the stand but not the canopy. i was thinking also of getting the lumen elite i'm hoping i can suspend them from the ceiling, is that possible?
